They got slaughtered anyways, it wasn't just 5-6 titans, that were dozens, half of the flank was annihalated, that wouldn't be that different if the soldiers meeted her.

The unitentional is a possibility, though, but sounds too innocent considering the background.

I've just learned this
http://blog.livedoor.jp/isayamahazime/
Isayama had some involvement inthis episode. A scene was created for this episode by Isayama which appears to be when they throw the corpses. Although at first he was not quite confident, Isayama ended liking it when watching it.

I think things will be more interesting to give Eren cuz crying & raging won't get things done... srly his character is getting worse..

Ah yeah, no, she wanted to kidnap Eren. If she thought Eren would come with her willingly(ie. the reason is reasonable), there would be no need to turn to a titan and forcefully kidnap him, and she has also shown not only disregard for human life, but enjoyment in ending it. She could cry tears of blood for all I care now, her methods are unreasonable.

And just in case you're wondering where she was enjoying her murdering(this is from the manga, but is set before the Special Ops Squad are killed):

Spoiler for A little big:

Yeah, she just spun that guy around like a yoyo because she's actually a really nice person with non-sinister reasons for her actions. Hate that *****.

PETRA!

and I didn't know levi turns into a spinning disk when fighting titans.

I do have a problem with something though, those shots of them flying through the air and talking to each other while keeping their body position the same should not be possible.

if one of the hooks lands on a tree and the body is drawn forward, there should be a swinging effect like a pendulum because of gravity, not like the ones shown where they travel to where the hook landed in a straight line, that only happens in video games.

besides, how long are the lines for them to say entire dialogues while flying through the air? they should have been shown constantly swinging side to side while releasing one of their hooks into trees.

that's just nitpicking though.

Most of the 104th corps cadets are 15, with Reiner and Bert being 16.

Levi... I saw a interview somewhere stating Levi is in his 30s, nothing confirmed. Petra is probably in his 20s.

the feels
Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

So after last weeks emotional high, we get a second gut punch followed by a stabbed and a knife twist. This show doesn't hold back. Feel really bad for the Scouts in general. That said Levi's title is certainly well earned, while the FT weakened his performance was amazing. The scene between Eren and Mikasa near the end and the call back to episode one was was one of my highlights, great episode.

To Mikasa's credit, her analysis of the FT's actions was spot on. She also hasn't been the only one to attack the FT when it looked the most venerable either. Doesn't help she was fueled by rage after the FT had killed many of her comrades. It's more of rookie mistake really.

The difference between Levi and the others is that Levi assumes the worst case scenario before making judgement, which is why he doesn't fall into FT's bait (I am assuming FT lets her nape out on purpose rather than shielding it with the tree). This is why he survives and the rest, including Mikasa, fail. To begin with he gives up killing FT to preserve his blades and gas in case FT chases back or he meets other titans on the way back. Tired FT means longer regeneration time and more time for him to escape. He cuts FT excessively before even going for her mouth.

I think Mikasa has a long way to go, not because she's not skilled or experienced, but because Levi's survivor mentality is not something someone can just learn. Some people are naturally more reckless and some people are more careful.

Actually going at such high speeds I don't think they would arc rather the force of them going forward would be stronger than the force of gravity pulling them down right? Also, considering these are trees we are talking about and there are multiple trees with longer distances between them their conversation doesn't seem implausible.

I noticed that too, and the obvious answer is that it's a major animation convenience, but it would have looked better if they'd just gone with closeups of them talking instead of using the wide shot of their mostly-inanimate bodies basically Superman flying across the background.

This is correct. The series is set in the past, a fictional past, that closely resemble our world aka. alternative universe.
I guess the first episode and chapter title of "To you, in 2000 years", was rather confusing and caused many people to think AoT takes place in the future.
The anime makes me think it's someone narrating the story, possibly Armin's descendants? :P
You have to remember this is anime/manga, it's all fictional unless stated/shown otherwise. I mean it's not like this is the first thing to have a medieval steam punk setting...

Also it was revealed in the prequel that all the currently mechanical and technology they have, were made by one guy in AoT's year 780.

Edit: No matter how closely AoT resembles our world, some people take the debate way too seriously lol.

As to when there are hints.

The Alexander "Sawney" Bean myth started between the 15th and 16th century.

Given that Hanji knew of this legend it is well after that.

Another indication is the firearms and canon technology. Before retreating to the walls artillery or I like to call it More Dakka was the only means of fighting the Titans.

the force needed for them to overcome gravity and make them travel in a straight line and not in an arc would have propelled them at such a speed that they wouldn't have time to react and fire another hook at another location, a tree or a building, unless their lines are very long.

also, we've seen them swinging during those fights inside the cities, we also see them swing when they're fighting with FT, and it is only when talking that we see them fly though the air.

which leads us to..

I agree completely, and that's why I said it's just nitpicking, otherwise we still only see shots of their faces while talking, that would've been too boring

Founded the thing about Levi:

"Levi's Age:

私「兵長って年齢公開してませんが、いくつなんですか?」
Me: You haven’t released the Captain’s age, so how old is he?

先生「いくつくらいがいいです?」
Isayama: How old do you think he should be?

私「えっ…30代がいいです…」
Me: Um…I think he should be in his thirties…

先生「あ、僕もねーそのくらいがいいです。」
Isayama: Ah, I think so too.

私「いつか兵長の年齢とかプロフィールでますかね?」
Me: Will you ever make a profile with things like Captain Levi’s age?

先生「必要になれば(笑)書くかもしれません」
Isayama: If it’s necessary *laughs* I might write it. "

^And yet he looks much older than Levi...

And about year, I'm pretty sure Isayama himself said that it is future.
