Disagree with what!? You have not presented even the slightest of evidence for all of your claims and therefore lack even the most remote basis for disagreement. You want to claim something? Fine, back it up with proper, official evidence. I have supported my claims by scanning documents from official publication and posted them on page 10.

WHERE.IS.YOUR.EVIDENCE!?

We already had a terrible experience with false information involving Frontier. We don't need more BS.

If that is your claim, then

POST. A. SCAN. OF. THE. OFFICIAL. PUBLICATION. TO. PROVE. IT

I did, why don't you? Otherwise, stop making things up. Is that too difficult to comprehend?

That, and since all of your information seemed to have originated from Wikipedia (you obviously never read the novels), I would like to remind you one crucial fact, the Japanese wiki pages disagree with your figures.

As a reminder, let's not lose our cool when we ask for someone to prove their claim.

Just because you say so doesn't make it so. Provide proof (if not an image of the page, provide the page number where it can be found).

Well, I did like Macross II, even if it didn't have anything to do with anything...

I wouldn't even mind a reboot/remake.

- Tak (So I failed the audition, sigh)

Macross II... mmm memories.
I still think the Metallic Siren is one fine badass and overpowered Valkyrie design.
And for a while I considered the VF-2S the most slick Valkyrie ever, until I saw the YF-21.

Pity the story and characters are so meh.

It looks like they will be making the selections around...April so safe to say that the show won't come for Spring (not that I ever expect it to be that early). Summer would also be too early so Fall is a possibility as well as next year.

This may sound a bit odd coming from someone who considers Macross Frontier a contender for his all time favorite anime series, but one thing I'm hoping is that this new series will not be like Frontier.

Well, okay, I do want dogfighting valkyries, an awesome sound track, and well developed characters. But I don't want to see another love triangle with one pilot and two idols (even though I liked the main characters in Frontier), and I'd prefer to see references to previous Macross series employed a little more sparingly than they were in Frontier as well (Frontier was a 25th Anniversary Celebration, this new series isn't).

Yeah, I know the various Macross series have historically all been fairly distinct from each other. I probably shouldn't be worrying quite so much. But with Frontier being such a runaway success and the recent idol boom, I'm worried they're going to try to do another love triangle with two idols and one pilot rather than trying something different.

Macross being more dynamic than Gundam as a franchise (both visually and in character relations) is one of the reasons why I've always liked it more, as long as they take the best of the past and combine it with new elements for stories it should be worth watching. Just don't let it end up like Macross 7 please.

While I'm all for a good romance between two people, this being Macross, I think the creators would feel their doing fans a disservice by not including a love triangle in some form or another .

Though definitely wouldn't mind a female MC and pilot .

The "Delta" in the title is officially written using the greek letter for Delta... which is a triangle. I think we can be pretty darn sure its going to have a love triangle of some sort.

I’d say they’re even. Character-relation-wise, Macross series almost always trapped in love-triangle formula (Macross 7 is a bit different with the love hexagon if not outright Basara harem, and Mylene actually a pilot of something though she’s not a pro-pilot and her plane is more for concert purpose than military) while Gundam series almost always trapped in having kid MCs piloting the Gundam and their characters develop from there after meeting various people (though they break away from the kid-MC formula in their OVAs Gundam 0080, 0083, 08th MS Team, MS IGLOO, etc). I do agree that Macross franchise is more visually extravagant especially since the shows also focuses on entertainment industry (idols, contests, stages and such) compared to Gundam that focuses itself on the doom-and-gloom effects of war. Different focuses on visuals, that’s all.
