River is great, that reminds me, I just saw clip from their 2010 秋祭り in Tokyo. They are outdoor and it's pouring and they performing 5 songs medley from including River and it looks great.

I try to see if I can import the DVD Box but can't find it anywhere.

I'll need to start catching up on the spin-off as well, it's got 4-spin-off right? I've only seen one right now.

That's not really the issue though, besides where is this Aniota crowd don't like AKB coming from?

The group's core fanbase and earliest fans are the Akibahara crowd and hardcore otakus, the question is after their booming success in past 2-3 years allows them to keep that crowd or is that crowd moving on to SKE based on the result of the 4th election.

Besides, in case you didn't know they are still the only idols around (who sings and are Japanese) that are releasing swimsuit singles every summer even though with their fame right now they don't really need to use that move anymore. (that and hand-shake events and the daily stages...)

But really, who ever said those people are fan-service chasers? That's the same group that made Idol Master or any other anime including Code Geass or Kaliedo Stars and the likes hits.

In all honesty, I have to admit that the only reason I watched the River PV initially was because I was geeking over the hardware, specifically the Rescue Wing helo the Team B girls were getting into.

Given how the thing was portrayed, I kinda got the impression of Team A and K on an exercise and getting seriously lost, with Team B providing the Rescue Wing pilots and medics to go look for them. Also I'm pretty sure that helo is more oriented towards CSAR than the other Rescue Wing birds that are painted with high visibility white and yellow... sorry.

That said, it's a really catchy song. And encouraging, which is always useful/good.

Exaggerated fanservice and even more on the bds release is a what to sell more bds, but on the sense where "this is a weak show, so we wouldn't sell much anyway, lets sell a bit more with the extra fanservice". If you pay attention to BD sales numbers through the season, the heavy fanservice ones don't tend to do that well.

Anyway, the AKB0048 BDs also have their marketing appeals besides that ticket. There will be some extra 4 mins of so for the episode, which I would guess will likely be longer concert scenes. The first BD has an really low price even for just one episode, and comes with the box for you to put all the volumes, being an incentive for people to buy the rest.

Just kidding, but the poor girl takes quite a bit of a lump this episode both mentally and physically.

This shows the DES' ability to handle any idol behavior. They knew that the Live Suits have Ejection system and will auto eject which will allow them to capture the Idols with ease. With a new unit out on the battle they nearly got the poor girl

Still, Takamina has her reservations about if Kanata will be worthy of succession. What will happen next episode I wonder.

That was INTENSE.

So yeah, Takamina survives. By a hair there, but she's fine physically. Emotionally? Well...

Turns out the current Sae was 76th gen (cue angst) and formerly named Youko.

For those wondering why the 77th gen got chosen for the concert, it's because they barged in on practice and insisted on joining. No mercy from Tsubasa on that point. "Although they weren't selected, the 77th generation still practiced. What was the 76th doing during that time?"

Chieri was too cute this episode. She got little screen time this time around, but what little she had, it highlighted how skilled and cute she is!

As for the rest, it was intense. I liked what Yuuko told Takamina at the end: "you should cherish your own dream above all else" or something like that, which basically means that Yuuko thinks Takamina would be running away if she graduate's for Kanata's sake.

And if I'm not mistaken, Kanata's line at the end of the episode was a reference. I'll have to check my copy of the "show must go on" to make sure.

Anyway, great episode all around. Next one will have the concert I take it. Looking forward to it.

anyway AKB isn't the only idol groups that do summer and fun on the beach in bikinis, it seem like the AVEX idol group SUPER☆GiRLS is doing that now as well.

OMFG...I watched this just because of AKB but this is really becoming one of my favorite anime of the season, and I tried to watch almost all anime airing ...The drama of this ep really drew me in...;A;
Especially the scenes with Takamina and her fear of being replace. Also the Chieri and Nagisa interaction was cute too :3 I like Yuka's letter to her BF too lol.
It seem like they really got closer lol. Chieri doesn't seem as cold as before. And Suzuko way to deal with the 76th gen trainees was funny XD Channeling Ichikawa Miori famous headbutt? lol

Also can't blame Mariko choosing 77th over 76th.

BTW how did DES just randomly showed up like that? Or AKB's trip was already publicly announced at this big peace conference? Anyway, no bias I think this is an underrated anime of the season....<__< it's so entertaining and so dramatic at the same time.

Good God... This episode was surprisingly intense, with some inside conflict thrown in, some angst, and Takamina came RAZOR-SHARP CLOSE to eat pineapple cake with the likes of Focker and Blanc, that is, she almost bought the farm for worrying hard so much about the prospects of being replaced.

Can't wait to see the subbed version to understand more.

If she survived this episode (I haven't seen it, so I can't speak as to her condition) then I believe she'll keep on surviving. It's part of the way stories tend to work... characters who are almost killed, but pull through, are far more likely to pull all the way through until the end. Killing them would feel too much like a repeat of the time when they almost died before. It's the characters who weren't almost killed that are now at greater risk.
