not sure yet but mostly assumes that it will hit this fall but I haven't read a confirmation yet.

Well if it does come out in fall this fall 2011 will be a good season for me.
I hope the anime doesn't make Rika less Rika.

Unless this has recently changed, the problem with Oricon numbers (and any sales tracking service) is that they're extrapolations. They record point of sales data from participating outlets (I once heard that Oricon covers 30% of retailers; some major chains don't provide data) and extrapolate the trend for a nationwide estimate. There's no way of knowing how accurate the predictions are, but they give a reasonable indication of how well one title performs against another.

With video games, we get sales figures from Enterbrain, Dengeki, and Media Create. Sometimes there's close agreement in numbers between trackers, but at other times, there are considerable differences. Again, we get a decent picture of relative performance if we compare Enterbrain numbers with other Enterbrain numbers, Media Create with Media Create, etc.

Shipment numbers are probably more accurate than any sales tracking (and they definitely indicate relative popularity) because they come straight from publishers. However, the caveat is that they don't tell us how many copies have reached the hands of consumers.
The problem is that we have shipped numbers for like next to nothing while we have Oricon numbers for nearly everything. I mean I saw Nisio's latest novel Otorimonogatari sell 126k for the opening week. If I apply the difference from the MF press releases to what Oricon reported for Aria and Hagani I might as well say it did 300k.... and if Oricon has been saying One Piece manga has been selling 3 million than it's really been selling fou... where do we stop?

And yeah I follow the Neogaf Media Create threads for JP Video game sales which also have the Dengeki and Famitsu numbers added later on.. and while there is some differences at most it's like 20-30k for a decent title... Steins;Gate PSP on Famitsu was @ 85.918 while Media Create had it doing 63.558.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS did an opening week of 74k, probably sell another 40-60k before dropping off the charts.. so max @ around 135k... Namco shipped 250k copies.. if they made a press release for it they'll use the shipping numbers... which is what MF have done with firstly Aria and now Hagani. Nearly everyone uses shipped anyway.. it sounds better.

Yeah, the designs are getting better with each new image we see. Looks like the staff took in the criticism of that original image. It's pretty much erfect now, they even got the irises right. I'd say those designs are better than NichidaxShaft's because the characters look less like card board cut outs and have more depth thanks to the shading.

Thing is moving on the positive path, I see. It's a first time I see the quality improve this rapidly before the show aired .

Lovely Sena.

But there's one problem : they forget to put scottish pattern on their heroines' skirts.

Well checked skirts are like a luxury in anime(with the exception of Shaft, but their solution isn't exactly eye flattering either).

I'm fine with this since it means it won't be on the MC pants either, which looked terrible in the manga.

You know what sucks, the character design is not going to be as HNGGGGG inducing but it'll outsell Denpa by a lot simply because of the hype.

Actually, what is worrying is if the studio can keep a solid animation without failing like, lets say, Hanasaku Iroha for example.

its not deen or jc staff so im not worried yet about the animation, im more worried about how things will translate into the anime since things like yozora's favorite word is now banned.

There are a lot but her favorite is: RAPE.

And I agree with zeniselv, the transition from novel to anime is another worrysome matter because...

- Rika without her hentai stuff isn't Rika.
- Yozora without her verbal abuse will be a nice girl.. which isn't Yozora.
- Maria without her suggestive innocence....

And we keep going on that.....
