Stacked loli is fuckin' adorable, and I want to take her home, but I'm a bit nervous to see the romcom stuff might be taking center stage. The best part of the show by far is just watching these giants of magic and divinity alternate back and forth between despairing at how far they've fallen, and forgetting themselves long enough to revel in the simple pleasures of life. I'd prefer the ship-teasing beneath the surface, as it has been, rather than as a primary source of conflict.

LOL This series is just so hilarious so far. If you take away their background, this would seem like a normal, daily life comedy. However, given their background, it gives it an extra layer of fun and entertainment.

With earthquakes centering around Chiho's home, I'm pretty sure that is where the person that shot the magic bullets is around. He/she probably is a recent teleport; hence, magic powers still remain strong. If I had to guess, it probably was the head priest that was supposed to come along with Emi, but did not quite make it the first time around.

You are right that in general, unless it is the main focus of a show, romance is not something that should be listed as a genre, since almost all shows have romance in one form or another. It is like "drama". Almost every show has it at some point, but it will not be listed as the genre unless it is the main focus of that show.

Also, I wonder how old everyone is suppose to be. They look young and like kids because its an anime, but given the situation and jobs, it seems they fit more like they're suppose to be 25-35.

It's a parody of Docomo, which I think is one of the bigger cellphone providers in Japan. And yes, both Maou, Emi, and Ashiya are in their 20s in the main series. The HS spinoff makes all of them 15 however.

Come on, he's likely more domestic than the other two combined, he's loyal, passionate about Maou, they go way back and they've been living in the same room for 8 months! XD He's rather good looking, too, and Maou loves his cooking. He totally wins.

Maou and Ashiya are supposed to be ~20, but as Satan and Alciel they're much older, about 300 and 1500 years old, respectively (by their own admission). Emilia is 17, but as Emi she pretends to be 20 (so she can work legally). Chiho is 16.

I respectfully disagree; I can't wait for things to start blooming in this love triangle. Both for the romance itself (big romance buff talking here ) and the inevitable hijinks that will follow.

I think Maou was son of Yuusha and Maou from Maoyuu Maou Yuusha, he looks like Yuusha with his mother's power and horn.

It may be a reference, I'm sure the director is a Lodoss fan and he did some animation on Lodoss (TV but not OVA).
