Actually...no it was all just a simple blend of gradient to transparent. I was aiming for as if something was comming up above the banner and I didnt want to center it because she was passing by the snow and if I tried to aim for the center all the snow would of just blocked her. Contrast had nothing with what I did there it was all multi-layering with multiply and then giving a bit of white around her hair if like she was purely a queen of the snow XD. It was all basic's, I appreciate all of your nominations for my banners . The Nerine was was almost hard to get in but I had to color parts of her hair because there was shades of green, arigato everyone!

imo, typeface is the hardest aspect of any imagery. The font, color, position and size of the text are what makes or breaks a solid design. It's like peanut butter and jelly, when you find the perfect match of text to your graphic.. it makes all the difference. There are tons of great images, but it's the type usage that distinguishes the grand.
