Do we have anymore info on who that guy with the eyepatch is? I only recall seeing him in the first episode and can't really recall any other time we saw him.

And yeah, it probably was referred to in that way since no one had ever been able to pilot it due to going in a coma. Sugata is probably the first to do so and it seems like he is only the way he is due to Benio's First Stage since he seemed like a souless husk when he came back. I suppose that could mean the old Sugata is pretty much dead with whatever Benio did to him being who he is now. I suppose he'll be the Emperor then since they made a point of saying they kept the position open for him.

Maybe if Samekh is the ship talked about, he needs to sacrifice or break all ties with Wako in order to pilot it. Which would seem to be the case going from the preview.

According to the official website, his name is Ryousuke Katashiro, an acquaintance with Head as seen in episode 1. He also the chairman of Glittering Crux Brigade meeting and he's the one that take George's Star Driver badge after he got owned by Takuto at the end. He look similar to Shirow Watari from RahXephon.

How long will they keep this trend of someone going into zero time each episode just so Takuto can beat them in one hit? It's like watching power rangers haha.

Ah, thanks for that. I didn't realize he actually was one of the members that wore a mask. He didn't seem the type.

Likely ending here since there is a decent chance he'll lose to Sugata. And since chances seem high that Sugata is now permanently the way he is and will become the Emperor of the Crux, he'll probably have a much harder time of things from now on. Especially once the next seal is broken and everyone is in Phase 3. Hell, unless they get some more allies who can use Cybodies, they'll be seriously at a disadvantage.

Of course, they always were at a disadvantage in terms of numbers. But then the Crux were stuck at Phase 2 and didn't have the King of Cybodies on their side. The only thing that might work in the Drama Club's advantage might be that there could be disputes in the organization as the goal come closer and closer to fruition.

The site posted earlier (and thanks to z3pher.mp3 for that) had a recent spoiler that while everyone in Crux has the shared goal of wanting Cybodies in the real world, there are differing views on what to use them for. I find it had to believe anyone has a good purpose for them, but this could be a source for potential infighting later.

Perhaps some others not on the Crux's side with marks could show up too, though that seems a bit farfetched.

How long is this series supposed to be anyway? 25 or so episodes seems like it could potentially not be enough (though maybe it could be), but I really can't see this going 50 episodes.

The sixth episode introduced Sugata's in-depth backstory told from Wako, and although it doesn't feature it introduces the King Cybody which is to be the strongest.

Thanks for everyone's posts, I now understand the seals and phases.

What exactly Sugata witnessed at his 10th/11th eleventh birthday concerning the King Cybody?

Maybe someone besides Wako that meant close to him, getting consumed in the world beyond the galaxies but not to return after the King's Pillar was summoned?

Truth is that episode six establishes the demarcation line, or hoping that be, for this show to start delving onto very serious territory.

I'm wondering if there may be some consequences to breaking all the seals that Crux isn't aware of. The explanation on the Phases seems to be the Crux's understanding of how it should work I think, so it's always possible they might be wrong on something.

Not just similar, completely identical, except the beard shape and clothing.

Shirow Watari turns out to be Ayato's(the main character) father. Could the identical appearances between the Ryousuke Katashiro and Shirow Watari be a possible hint? His name even starts with an R, so he might have been the artist of that painting. Furthermore, we already know that the painting itself is a homage to Rahxephon.

Well, someone here is Takuto's father. The popular theory I've seen bandied about is that Head. Given that his real name starts with an 'r' as well, it could fit. Since Fish Girl's story also seems to correlate quite heavily with Head, that could explain how he came to be where he is.

The age thing is a problem of course, but there are any number of possible explanations for that.

I've heard that idea and think there could certainly be something to it. She's given off the vibe as well of being one of the more threatening Crux members and her being one of the Maidens ups the ante even more there.

Yeah, the hint couldn't have been any more obvious. The question is: do the Glittering Crux now about this? If so, has her seal been broken already? I found it interesting that none of the maidens seem to know each others' identities.

This episode pretty much confirms Head is Sam and Takuto's father, too. As I thought, Fish Girl suffered from Stockholm syndrome, to the point she was sad to be freed. Then again, it appears she was never truly locked up, she could have left at any moment but chose to remain with Head because they liked each other. Still, you don't usually put your girlfriends inside bird cages... I understand it was done for symbolism (Maidens = caged bird, breaking their seals set them free) but come on. I hope we'll still get to see (and hear) Fish Girl even though she's left the island. She's the best part of the show.

Most of our predictions were off, Sugata not only didn't join the Crux, he and Takuto have an even stronger bromance going on now. The villains are screwed. Thankfully for them, it doesn't seem like Sugata is able to use Samekh yet.

since according to the summaries mizuno(pink haired girl) is also a maiden.. i love the scene where the maidens met up on the bus the most in this episode since it showed a connection between the maidens even though, more or less they just met..

I'd bet they aren't aware or at least most of them aren't. I've gotten the impression that one should generally have to break the seals in order, which seemed to be behind that comment that breaking Wako's was doing things a bit early. So I'd guess she still has hers. Be curious to hear what her motivation for everything is.

Yeah, they've been giving out lots of hints, but this episode really does just increase the already good chances of it being so. I've wondered if perhaps she had some inkling of who he was maybe and along with developing Stockholm Syndrome, also wanted to help him in some way since Head does seem rather unhappy. She seemed to be leaving the island so I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see her again or at the very least for a long while yet.

I know and I love it when I make depressing predictions and end up being wrong about things. Well, it would have been a bit much to have him have access to all that power though he always has the chance of bringing it out for a bit at a later time.

So, we go for the next Maiden starting next episode. I rather hope we also start getting some explanations or hints on what the exact motivations behind the Crux wanting Cybodies in the real world are.

phase clarifications (again) according to prof. green

1st phase grants you some kind of special power, but not everyone realizes what that 1st phase power is. Scarlet Kiss's first phase is to manipulate men she kisses. And in a previous episode, Mermaid Doll was freckle girl's 1st phase power.

2nd phase grants you the ability to control a cybody. You could be in 2nd phase but still unable to recognize what your 1st phase power is. Takuto is 3rd phase but he doesn't know what his 1st phase power is. Similarly, Watanabe Keiko wonder about her 1st phase power too.
