I doubt Lily would be playable. Why would she be? She's a non combatant. How could they make a move set for her? I think those are just promotional art drawn by the manga-kas. Since Vivid has 2 characters in the game, they needed to even it up for the Force picture and decided to put in Lily.
Granted from now until December they could announce more characters.

We... really have no clue if she has any combat value. It's way too soon to say she can't fight, at least on par with, you know, Yuuno and Arf? Could just be a more defensive specialist.
And if Vivid did get a third character... I don't know who I'd want in. Probably not Nove though, but that's just me. |

Well... this game isn't coming out until later this years. That's still 6 months or so to show us something, and that's assuming they want to show us something. I'm not saying Lily will be playable, but I'm not going to dismiss it either. Force is missing a second character, and 5/6 characters in those posters are confirmed as in the game and playable.

And that's... well, currently. Besides, the only Unison devices we know of our perfectly capable fighters on their own. Reinforce Zwei is an AAA+ rank make, which is Vita's level, so I don't see why Lily couldn't be in this game. Sure, she'd probably be more helpful for Thoma as an Unison Device, but I still don't see why she can't be in as her own fighter.
Again, difference between saying she could be and saying she will be. I'm not saying the latter, but I'm not going to rule out the chance of her being playable. |

Story-wise putting in some of the Force villains (or even one of the ViVid rivals) would be a good idea, unless it's just gonna be the Dark Materials over and over and over for every character. If the two OCs are time police or whatever, why should all the future cases be cooperative?

Because she doesn't fight? Yes, Shamal and Yuuno being playable were surprises but we see them in the anime taking part in battle. They are capable of taking part in battle. Lily is not. Giving her any moves would be 100% ass pull. Still possible, but not likely.

Except, you know, if they planned this in advance. Which is something that's very likely in a multi-media franchise.
Professional authors generally don't write stories on the fly like most fanfiction authors do. They'll have planned the basic framework of the story long before they start actually writing the story itself. Which means the story of Force is already planned out and the notes and sketches given to the crew far in advance. Case in point: the Tron game. A prequel to the movies that couldn't possibly have been released when it was if they started on it after the movie was finished (not even counting the fact that it was released 10 days before the movie premiered). Also, the inclusion of Thoma, Vivio and Einhart are clear evidence of this happening in this game as well. And considering every single Force Next so far has been canon (Even Lily's is starting to appear in official media), calling them 'for show' is really making me wonder what on earth you base that on. |

Plus, Lily's "Engage Suit" NEXT design didn't mention anything directly related to independent combat capability, the text focused entirely on her function as the main balance between the Book of the Silver Cross and it's user(also giving hints that the Eclipse virus is exclusive spreaded trough the Strosek series). I'm more inclined to think Lily will appear on the game as a support for Tohma, appearing by his side on various of his attacks(probably during Tohma's Limit Break).
As much as i would love to play with Nove i really doubt she will manage to appear in the game xD. One crazy(and somewhat unplausible) theory is that the entire Wolkenritter will be taken out from the game and in their place there will be Miura Rinaldi with a set of moves that mimicks iconic attacks and spells from all four of them.

By "not for show" I meant "they are canon."
Now granted, Aki's summary doesn't paint her as a front-line fighter, but neither was Shamal. She never got into a fight The only moves we've ever seen her do were teleporting, healing and grabbing a linker core, that last one even being explicitly noted to only be able to do when the targets defenses are down. The exact same "100% asspull" argument applies there, and if they did it before, they can do it again. Me, I'd rather see Isis, but I can certainly imagine them putting in Lily. |

No, with Shamal it was more of a 60% asspull. Like I've said, at least we've seen her taking part in battles. Putting Lily into combat makes no sense.
If that promo image is really suggesting she'd be a playable character, then why didn't they just outright anounce it?

I agree that the promo image proves nothing, but it does suggest her presence in the game by... well, her mere presence. Why else would she be in the promotional art? If it is just to show of the Force heroes, where is Isis? |
