I wonder if ep.0 would be remade some day by bored otaku. It certainly isn't beyond their resources to do so. (except finding moe girls to do it, probably)

Hare Hare Yukai Single is out! And what Sushi-Y posted earlier seems to be the original full version ^^ Now I can sing along with your lyric

Warning: If you don't buy the original CD, do not download the single! You know what Suzumiya Haruhi will do to you.

The first one looks like it's fan made? The quality is not really good...
But again, it might be youtube.com's fault...

(edit: link seems to be down now...maybe it'll be back later? I'll try to replace this if I find a working one, sorry)
Hmm, I can access that link from my home computer but not my work one, so I think there's some sort of weirdness going on with the original server. However, I'm going to mirror it here (just keep in mind this movie isn't mine, lol):

http://www.rockettubes.net/haruhism/haruhi320x240.swf

It *IS* a flash movie, so you need to be flash-enabled to view it, btw. It's pretty big too so you may need to wait a while or it might be better to right click and "save as" and then view it once it downloads.

"Why silver heads...?"

Some background info on the toys used (aside from the obvious Gunbuster ones), just to preempt the most likely inevitable tangental questions that will follow viewing this video:

These are action figures from the Takara-produced toyline "Microman" which has run on and off since 1974 (it is the first known 10cm--3 3/4 inch--format action figure toyline...a format later used by Star Wars, the 80's version of GI Joe, and so on). Microman is known by us old timers in the US and Europe as "Micronauts", although that latter series ended in the early 80's while Microman continued on in Japan and resulted in the creation of various transforming robot character toys that became licensed by Hasbro as "The Transformers" around 1985.

Transformers performed way better, so Takara dumped Microman in favor of that license...and much later revived it again in 1999 along with a year-long anime series of its own (the 70's Microman only had a spin-off manga, much like the US Micronauts had only a tie-in Marvel comic book that outlived the toys).

In 2003 and onward, Takara released an updated Microman figure line with a super-articulated body, and also sold "blank" figures for customizers wanting to build their own characters.

These figures continued with the classic early 70's "chrome-headed" style (hey, they thought it looked cybernetic and futuristic back then, lol---the 1999 anime changed it to a Terminator 2-style liquid metal armor plating, supposedly) for the main Microman-based continuity toyline itself. Other than the blank figure used for Haruhi's silohuette at the start, all the other figures used in this video are of the latter subset--which is why they all have "those weird silver heads".

Far more info than you needed to know, but hey, I KNOW someone will ask about some of that otherwise, lol. ...OTZ

I'm fairly sure all the "male" versions are unofficial and fan made. I myself experimented with it. It's basically an edited version of the original song.

If you use the audio editing program, like "Audacity," you can easily change the pitch of the song. Also note that not only are the vocals lower in pitch, but the rest of the music is as well.

Example: Bouken Desho Desho (TV SIZE) that I edited to sound like male vocals (I think I took the song down 5 half steps)

Then at least some of the modified instrumental would be mixed down along with the modified vocal. In this version no modified instrumental is heard at all.
