Is Lelei covered with tomatos because her doctorate consists of such heresy as electricity, big bang theory and laws of the universe like gravity. Which are all oroginal by her btw, after she read several scientific books from our world? XD
On the other hand Zorzal is all in 'Mpire f**k yeah' phase. This will be fun to watch. XD |

I do not think that Leilei deserve to self-publish as grand master because she reveals the other world (earth) science discovery to here colleagues and other scholars, she never discovered them, she only learned those ideas from other, that would be similary as stealing some others ideas.
But in other hand she deserve it for creating a new kind of magic that's more powerful than the old one by combine the new theory of law and physics from the other world (earth) and her knowledge of old magic. |

And with this episode we surpass the manga and thus my first hand knowledge of the series. (Though there appears to be a bit of Empire stuff left that was in the last few chapters of the manga, due to different order of adaptation)

Lol, Rory's jealousy was priceless this episode.
A lot of buildup going on. I dislike Pina's bro more and more now though. And also, it was fun to see Leiei and her sister battling it out. Fun fun.

Zorzal: 'And now Japan, it's time for war.'
*Meanwhile on the other side of the GATE: 'Did someone said "war"?' This episode was very good, nice in building the hype for the incoming war. It was also good in explaining how GATE works. I love the look at Itami's face when he heard that, I saw that he probably wondered what would happen if GATE is to close with them being on that side. And if that would to happen with the SDF force left behind I can imagine their world turning into similar one to our own in two centuries of less. Lelei must have entire Wikipedia saved in that laptop. xD The fight between two sisters was also good, you can see hat her older sis has Imuoto complex. Grey is the men that save the day, and I presume that epic buildup will continue next week. I have read LN short description of what is to come next and I cannot be more hyped than now. |

I was surprised at the end preview.
It's epic, but ain't it too fast? XD Lelei deserves to have her masteral/doctorate degree, she's the first person to apply our laws/theories to magic, opening up a whole new window as far as science/magic is concerned. People can build on the research of other people, you know. |

So, with this world's customs, Lelei and Itami are married. LOL
And Lelei is trying to claim Itami for herself, stating that all those nights that Itami spent with Tuka did not count because Tuka was not in the correct state of mind. Dang, Lelei was so aggressive and calculating! I expect Itami to not take too lightly that the empire was planning to assassinate his new wife. There will be payback, and I don't expect Zorzal to survive this. As for the emperor, he not quite dead yet. What does that mean? All hail Pina! He will either recover, or he will appoint Pina as the next empress before he passes away. Also, it looks like the Gate will close eventually. That means that whoever is here will be stuck here. No exploitation of resources, then, for our world. As for previews,

So basically all the sapient races came from other worlds with Humans being from Earth. This has been happening several times already in varying intervals.
There is a danger of the JSDF of being stranded. The earthquake could mean the gate is about to close. Itami has to contact Alnus and give this particular piece of intel. Ha! Zorzal wants to negotiate in a position of strength. Where have heard that before in history? Tyulle's plan is proceeding as planned. Either Japan destroys the empire or it tears itself apart. If the Empire would stand remotely a chance they need the mages of Rondol. But here is the thing human mages are academics not soldiers and like Lelei they might not consider themselves of the Empire. Piña is in a bind. She can't trust either of her brothers of the welfare of the Empire. To save it she'll have to make hard choices. I can't help but laugh at the former POWs attempt at a false flag. They don't have the means to reproduce army clothing or guns. Again they can't attack Alnus as the JSDF has guns. edit: While Lelei continues on her path of explosions her sister comes from the Tohsaka-Edelfelt school gem...er mineral magic fighting. No wonder she is poor. Last edited by ReddyRedWolf; 2016-02-19 at 16:11. |

Hilarious. And I was surprised to find out that Lelei has grabbed a technical lead. I suspected Tuka to get and hold a lead considering Rory's status and (relatively) eminent departure and Lelei's age, but apparently it's too late. And to think just last episode I was talking about the dangers of another official finding himself in a situation where associating with the local culture might demand he accept marriage to an underage girl. Refusing Lelei could have bad consequences, and exhibit a disrespect for the traditions and beliefs of the local people. I'd say Itami has three options: either accept the marriage but request a stay until she's old enough for his own nation to recognize the marriage, examine the law and try to find a loophole, or claim that sharing a room in his world doesn't count because it's a completely different realm with a completely different set of rules, where such a marriage is not recognized. If he can't get away with one of these things, he's going to be stuck with an adorable little bride. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, I'd say she's a good catch.
Also, considering Zolzal's insistence on trying to achieve a "strong" position, I wonder what he'd think if he found out just how much Japan's been holding back. Imagine his face if he finds out he's dealing with a nation that's dealt with weapons able to annihilate an entire city and the surrounding land in the space of a second and leave the land poisoned for years. And that afterward the nation learned to harness the same force as a source of power. It'll certainly take some drastic action to force him to recognize how fortunate he is to be dealing with a nation that loves peace as much as they do. On a side note, the discussion of the Gate itself led me to something I'd been wondering for a while: how can anyone be sure how long this gate will stay open? The Elven legend of a couple coming over suggests that it might not always be a very long period (unless the couple were just in a very isolated region). We could wind up with the local faction trapped here for the rest of their lives, away from their family, their friends, their Anime... |

Is that from the novels? While the term "sleep together" may mean sex, considering that everyone seems to accept it with knowledge of the fact that no sexual relations occurred suggests to me that simply sharing a room is considered sufficient. Tuka even went on about how many times she slept with Itami, knowing full well that they'd never had sex. If this was a rule concerning sex, you'd think she'd correct her, or at least say that it doesn't mean sharing a room.

I still find it unlikely that the old woman and sister both believed he had sex with her in those places considering the way she said it. I've heard "slept WITH" being used as a euphemism for sex both here and there, but not "slept TOGETHER", which is what she said. I thus find it a little unlikely to be simply a misunderstanding. Not to mention that there are cases where things like living in a single house or cohabiting for a specific length of time qualify as marriage in some cultures, without the requirement of sexual intercourse. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to find that there are cultures where a guy could have sex with a girl fifty times without any implied relationship but things like sleeping under the same roof would immediately qualify as a serious relationship. But if you're not going by the novels, then your belief that she's just misinterpreting the law holds no more water than the assumption made by me and apparently Itami himself that she's giving an accurate account. Besides, there has been some evidence that she understands at least a certain amount of those matters, so it seems kind of unlikely that a genius mage who studied under a lecherous old man that wouldn't stop making euphemisms about her sister would make such a stupid and obvious misinterpretation.
