I won't judge you. I have some interesting tastes when it comes to things I like related to anime. for example, I love me some anime traps But sorry, OP, I don't know any animes that have what you are looking for.

I have no intention of judging you except silently, but don't you worry about that, but I think you might be out of luck on this one. Maybe you'll be able to find a manga like this if you search hard enough, but I can't think of any anime that covers this.

Now that that's out of the way; I vaguely remember there being a show about an eccentric doctor with an oedipus complex, but I can't remember the name of the show, or whether it has what you want; I'm sure someone will be able to say what it was.

Apart from that, I doubt you're going to be able to find what you're looking for.. there are shows with some undercurrents, but they're all kinds of fucked up (Evangelion, is probably the most intimate mother son thing I can think of, or Kara no Shoujo the VN, though thats more Dad-daughter).

Based on the list, it seems the OP request was non-existence in non-H medium. Too taboo of a topic i guess

The only instance i can remember such theme was played, was a story in Black Jack. The one where the son worked on the ship was swallowed by a whale. Later he was rescued, but lost memories and his whole face was remade and look completely different. So he came back home and lived with his mother, a milf. And the two treated each other very awkwardly, until the son admit he was lusting after her. She smacked him out of anger, and that brought his memories back

There are actually non-H incest anime out there but mostly father daughter and siblings. Never seen or heard of a mother son one.

Seriously speaking, based on my long experience with anime since the 90s (plus, I've watched anime from 70s & 80s too), I don’t think you can find a non-hentai anime title that focus on the romance of an incestuous (as in blood-related) mother-son couple. Still, if OP is willing to let go of his ‘anime-only’ & ‘non-hentai’ criteria, I’m sure there are some well-written hentai anime/manga about mother-son relationship out there (more so in manga department). And yes, well-written hentai mangas actually exist in case anyone’s wondering .

The 1990 OVA Yagami-kun no Katei no Jijou features a mother and son relationship in a comedic and one-sided way. The mother is oblivious. It's the best I can think of outside of porn and short flashbacks like mentioned in that other thread (Mardock Scramble).
