I think the fight was more about Deku's internal dialogue and how hes growing into the mold of All Might.

We see in this episode that hes really taking to heart the hero's mentality and AM's 'its okay because I'm here' vibe.

He also learns that single 100% punches aren't a get out of jail free card and he'll need to be able to throw'em by the dozen's/hundred's like AM does.

I'm curious to see what the damage to his arm is. He did 3-4 full power smashes off of it depending how you count. Though the anime just shows scarring according to the nurse his fingers on his right hand were supposed to be crooked from the irreparable damage last time he did that.

On the flip side I'm hoping this isn't going to be the continuing fight loop for Deku. Come up against someone more powerful and wreck yourself with plot power to win it. The anime teeters on being dark from time to time but always comes out rosy in the end. If this type of fight loop continues I'd want to see Deku get properly wrecked or its going to get predictable.

I cried manly tears this week. Deku's starting to think like a true pro.

I totally admire Deku. Courage, integrity, dedication and resourcefulness absolutely unquestioned. But the one thing I don’t admire about him is the way he glosses over what his choices are doing to his mother, who gave up everything for him. To his credit, Horikoshi doesn’t ignore that, either.

jesus Deku arm was mangled. However seeing him grow more and more makes watching him fight that more impressive. Hes learning that 100% single punches are not always going to cut it. Hes starting to think like All Might did in season 1 when he fought Noumu. "Made to fight me? If you can withstand me at 100% then ill force you to surrender from beyond that." Hes learning what Plus Ultra really means. His mentality and tenacity is one of the reasons he has advanced as far as he has. I find it interesting that the villains target was not Deku necessarily but Bakugo

Didn't like it either. That fight already had too many cliches to begin with. Boku no Hero makes great use of shonen cliches and Bones just kills it with awesome direction, animation and OST. That's why i like this series so much. However, i think it would be better if Kota found the killer of his parents after this fight. I didn't like Midorya to triple use his broken arm either. Use the legs boi! It kinda looked like an asspull that way. I understood the 1 million percent thing was just him hyping himself up to break human limitations and make use of that extra adrenaline power, but "breaking" his arm 3 times without losing it does not seem fair. I always like a little coeherence in shonen fights and that's why even tho i got the chills, the writting on it could be a little bit better. Not the mangaka's greatest moment for sure.

Fight was good
Animation was good
OST on point as usual

Deku's arm should be fucked 10 ways to Sunday, but you can explain some of that away with real life. The human body can do rather insane shit under a rush of adrenaline when in a life or death situation, like lifting a vehicle as you would NEVER be able to do otherwise.

At this rate Deku will be in worse shape than All Might when he gets older.

"Plus Ultra" indeed. My hat goes off for Tetsutetsu. Looks like it's not just class A that understands.

Deku has been thinking a fair bit how he can use his powers, but outside of fights (apart from with Todoroki). He does need to start using more creative tactics, especially manoeuvring with his empowered legs. A simple slugging match can be gripping when the fighters seem evenly matched, as with All Might vs Noumo, but against experienced villains, Deku's going to be the underdog. Bringing out an unexpected power, as in Deku vs Shinso, is alright for minor problems if explicable, but winning believably through raw effort does require sacrifice, or some world class music and direction.

As for the recent ep, why didn't gas mask just shoot Kendo? Even if she's hiding in the smoke, he can sense where she is. I suppose the idea is that people who turn to villainy for some twisted personal reason are hindered by the same psychological problems. That would be another message promoting collectivism over individualism, although it's terrorist or criminal groups in real life that work most effectively for evil.

Well, it helps that Kendo is there to do the thinking, but glad to see class B can handle themselves too. Who knew a big hand quirk would be so useful.

Even with broken arms, Deku's still going. And rare to see Bakugo and Todoroki on the defensive (even after getting permission to use their full power), but they're up against a surprisingly strong opponent. Seeing that quirk in motion makes it look even creepier than it was in the manga.

We saw Tokoyami's quirk in the sports festival, but at nighttime, wow. If he can ever control it, but then that's the difficult part. They've all got a long night ahead of them.

I liked how easily Aizawa subdued Dabi, even if he was just a clone. Such a badass.

The opening scene with Shigaraki made it clear why they're after Bakugou: he wants to recruit him. His power and his behavior during the festival are most likely what caught Shigaraki's eyes. Ironic, given that the purpose of the festival is to allow students to get noticed by pro heroes.

Kendou and Tetsu are my favorites from class B (not like a lot of others stand out, except Monoma but for bad reasons in his case) so I was glad they got to shine in this episode. They worked well as a team, too.

Nice to see some members of class B get the spotlight. The focus is usually on class A so they usually don't get much to do, but Kendo and Tetsu orders proved that they were dedicated to being heroes too

I'm a manga reader and yet I still get super hyped thanks to the quality of this episodes.

So far, my only complain about this season is that the next episode wasn't titled "Revelry in the Dark".

It's not about what your quirk is. It's all in how you use it.

Kendo is wonderful. She's among my favorite girls in this series, despite getting very little screentime, so it's a delight to see her have a chance to shine.

An awesome episode! I think that it was actually even better than the last one.

I like that we see Shiguraki is thinking a lot more seriously and strategically than he did before. I, however, kind of get lost on his game metaphors since I don't play video games and the terms are confusing to me? What was he saying about the difference between role-playing and simulation games and how does that apply? Can somebody help me a little in explaining this?

So, we are getting some names of the villains here. Mustard basically didn't have much to him, though I am happy that he gives the students of class B to shine.

It's confirmed that they are after Bakago, and I have a pretty idea what they have in mind considering Bakago's more "villain-like" qualities.
It was hilarious that Midoriya is just so used to calling Bakago "Kacchan", that he forgets to call him anything else.

However, thankfully everyone else in Class A knows this, so they know that Bakago is the target. Kirishima looks like he's going to be taking action next.

Dabi and Eraser going against each other was cool, but Dabi is smart in having Twice create a complete clone of him and confusing Eraser as to what Dabi's quirk actually is. So, Dabi's power is fire, but his clone can only be damaged so much before disappearing.

Shoji seems to be the one who lost his hand to "Moonfish" who has the most deadly teeth on Earth. But the bigger problem is Tokoyami who is having a major problem with Dark Shadow.
We'll see Toko conquer this I'm sure, but I'm not really that interested in it since it's pretty predictable. Probably something involving the "power of my will over yours" again, which is pretty common in shounens.

So, I'll be more interested in seeing all the kids go all out now that they've been given the okay to fight. Though I'm sorry Eraser, if it was between me using my powers to defend myself, and some kind of arbitrary rules, I have to say that I'm breaking those rules in an instant.

Well, until next time!

Edit: I forgot to mention that it seems that not all the villains are working towards the same goals, which can cause problems in the future. I like that Stain's approval of Izuku is saving his life now. I also like how all his friends can tell that Izuku overdoes it and call him out on it and they are not just handwaving away his injuries just because he went "1,000,000%".

I think it was an above average for this week's episode. Some of the fight felt a bit all over the place but the episode captured a thrilling mood of this arc. Also kinda glad they are giving some of the minor characters a spotlight in this season.

Bakugou was highly entertaining to watch especially with his behavior.

Just makes me want to see what happens when they actually reach Bakugo. I imagine they'll give him a real impassioned pitch about all the reasons he should join them, and I have no doubt his response will be an explosion to the face. Seriously, I feel like they'd have better luck with DEKU than him. At least Deku wouldn't try to vaporize them on the spot.
