I think the reaction of the girls towards magic was very poor.......
I expected deeper reflections (not too much) of the girls.
Akamatsu, I would have liked what to develop more fully this aspects.

I'm liking Fate addition to the protagonists more and more. He rounds up the cast with his "don't give a damn" attitude. Especially when contrasted with "super polite and considarite Negiand brash hot headed Kotaro.

As I looked at Sakurako in this chapter, I couldn't help but be reminded of Izumi from Hayate the Combat Butler for some reason.

From the cheerleaders? Truth be told their the LAST ones (along with the twins) that I would ever expect to have a moment of depth to them.

Depends on your definition of normal. I count all of 6 that I'd still define as normal.

All of the girls that went to the magic world don't really count as normals. All of them except Akira have pactios, and all of them have been in the middle of a couple battles/life or death situations. Seeing say, Makie being hassled by a couple of guys when she's previously made a heroic last stand against Quintum would be odd for example. Even for Akira and Ako, the most normal remaining of them, seeing them threatened by random punks, when they've been previously threatened with being drowned where they stood would be odd.

So that leaves:

Misa
Madoka
Sakurako
Chizuru
Fuka
Fumika
Satomi
Evangeline
Ayaka
Satsuki
Zazie

that didn't go to the magic world. Eva and Zazie don't make the normal list for obvious reasons. Ayaka and Chizuru are now heavily involved in magic affairs, and previously Ayaka was decently skilled in hand to hand combat, and Chizuru had been known to stand up to, including slap, a demon, so they don't really make the list. Satomi built Chachamaru, and was heavily involved with Chao, so she doesn't really make the normal list either.

So that drops the list to:

Misa
Madoka
Sakurako
Chizuru
Fuka
Fumika
Satsuki

as far as being normal girls that have had essentially nothing to do with magic, crazy adventures, etc. Even then Satsuki, Fuka, and Fumika are questionable due to Satsuki's association with Chao, and Fka and Fumika's association with Kaede, but those along aren't really an equivalent to the adventures and trials the other girls have been through.

Yeah if you just count normal as "doesn't have a pactio (17 girls) or isn't a power in their own right (Eva, Zazie, Mana) you can get a third of the class as still being normal, but as I said above, a few of those wouldn't be considered normal for various reasons either.

my definition of "Normal"

1. does not have a pactio
2. does not use or made up of magic/ki
3. not related to anyone who use magic

ie. i current count Akira as one of the normals.

Given that Satsuki seemed pretty knowing doing the festival arc, even flying her resturant van to catch Negi after he and Chao stopped flying, so thats her off the list (and given that you listed Chiruzu both as one out of the list and on the list she's off as well)

It seems that their existence does not matter much for them, and for them the magic it is something normal.
Something a little disappointing in my opinion.

It is interesting that Akamatsu-sensei is going back to some comedic ideas from the Mahora storyline (and a bit before with the negi and Chizuru) in this current volume.

On scoring a pactio, I HOPE that Fate doesn't get in on the pactiones thing with the girls in the class. I saw him in one of the spoiler images so...^_^;;;
