Which shows do you mean? I think Shino in Kinimoza spoke formally like an older person, but she was very child-like and ditzy.

Really cute show so far, with humour consistently fine. I'd expect a vampire-groupie like Akari to soon insist that Sophie turn her into a vampire. Sophie would probably appreciate if Akari didn't want that, since vampires can get fed up with those requests.

Fell about laughing at the Maria-sama ga Miteru reference, who would have thought we'd still get those?

I'm pretty sure MariMite is still a very popular LN series over there. Not to mention that it's kind of made a serious mark.

No, ended in 2012 but it's still a favorite among many it seems. It's still mentioned with fair frequency in all kinds of series, sort of a go-to when an author wants to give a girl otaku a girly favorite. Not to mention that it's quite memorable and fits well with popular memes about girls' "passions" that had been popular since Little Women was translated.

Cute episode as usual. For a moment, I thought Sophie used her vampire powers on the teacher.

Nice parodie of kouhai sempai relationship. They should do it more often.

Episode 4:

Introducing Ellie! Ellie is Sophie's cute little "friend" from a long time ago. I've actually wondered if Ellie was the one who turned Sophie into a vampire in the first place, but so far no one's talked about it. Regardless, Ellie is a much more "traditional" vampire in a number of ways.

It never crossed my mind before someone on Reddit mentioned it, but it's rather likely that she's based on Countess Elizabeth Bathory, an infamous serial killer from around 400 years ago who brutally tortured and murdered hundreds of young girls, and is rumored to have literally bathed in the blood of young maidens on the belief that it would keep her young. Trust anime to turn one of the most monstrous figures in history into a cute girl.

Funny when Ellie still try to use the mirror. Must have been a big surprise waking up after 100 years. Human technology has advanced so much. If she slept for 100 years and woke up in 2018.. I guess she never saw WW1 and WW2.. which is a good thing I guess.

I have a feeling Sophie will become very attached to Akari.. and will eventually turn Akari into a vampire, so they could live together forever.

It certainly fits. Ellie protested that she was over 450. Bathory was born in 1560, 458 years ago, making her just the right age.

It seems you really can get anything online. Does the blood delivery company employ some beautiful people to sit around and regularly get their blood taken? It doesn't seem like the existence of vampires is particularly secret (though I understand it's played for laughs), much like Interviews with monster girls. Before Ellie went to sleep for 100 years vampires might have been more secretive, so she could get away with attacking and biting people, but she probably won't be able to do that in a time when vampires are openly coexisting.

The vampires in Only lovers left alive would certainly be envious of Sophie.

nah... this is just the true form of Red Cross and donation blood bank

jokes aside, I never expect that Sophie would be so depressed for being an eternal loli

Watched episode 5:

Nice that Ellie mature enough to apologize, and it turned into happy sleep over. Sophie trying to cook for Akari... it's simple curry but hard for her to make because of the garlic. In the end curry is succes, but Sophie can't get near because of smell.

Oh, and I also liked the scene where Sophie helped grandma..

Kirsten Dunst in Interview with the Vampire wasn't too happy about it, but it's surprising in such a light hearted show.

THERE IS A POST-CREDITS SCENE IN EPISODE 7! DON'T MISS IT!

Akari is stupid about quite a number of things. Do your summer memory stuff at night and it won't be a problem! Aside from any of the ideas that have running water.

Hinata's self-confidence issues kind of bug me at times. How can she think she isn't feminine or that she doesn't look good in girly clothes? (That's a rhetorical question: don't answer it)
