01 – Prologue
Arf: Autumn, year 0078 of the new calendar, cases/incidents still occur but in the eyes of normal folks/everyone concerned, it’s been pretty peaceful all things considered. On a certain world, a movie depicting Fate and Nanoha’s childhood is being created. Fate and the others have been cooperating by being interviewed and providing assistance/eyewitness reports. Even I, Arf, helped out a bit too. And so, the film is just about done. All that’s left is for Fate to fact check the movie and script once more, so I and Fate are heading towards the outskirts of the Mid capital where the studio is. And since Erio and Caro are in town for a little errand to HQ, we decided to meet up since it’s been so long.
02 - Fate to Aruf, Erio to Caro
02 – Fate and Arf, Erio and Caro
Arf: Whoa, movie studios are pretty spacious places.
Fate: And the floor is just gleaming. I think I’m getting nervous.
Arf: Fate’s wearing a uniform, so she’s fine but I’m wearing what I always do at home…
Fate: Well it’s not as if we’re going to do visual work…
Caro: Ah, Fate-san!
Erio: Arf!
Fate: Oh Erio, Caro! Oh, you’re wearing your uniforms too.
Caro: Yes, we have a little errand to do.
Erio: Though it’ll be over with quickly.
Fate: I see.
Arf: Now that’s that all said and done, Erio’s gotten taller again!
Erio: Re-really?
Fate: Yeah, you’ll be taller than me by next year.
Erio: I wonder…
Caro: Erio-kun’s really unfair! I’m sure that he’s stealing my share of height every day and growing taller instead of me.
Erio: Caro, this again?
Caro: We’re the same age, eating the same sort of food, and living the same sort of life, but I’m not growing at all. Look at our height difference!
Fate: Ah, he’s a head taller than you. (A head difference in height between you two)
Caro: It’s just too much…
Arf: You shouldn’t do that Erio, better give it back to her.
Erio: Um, if it was something that can be given back, I would but… Caro, you can’t go slagging me about it.
Caro: *TSUN*
Fate: Don’t worry about it Caro, you’re still growing.
Caro: That would be great, if it was true…
Arf: Huh? But if you guys have work, shouldn’t we go finish that up first?
Fate: It looks like we’re going to be interviewed, so it might take awhile.
Erio: Oh no, not all. It’s scheduled for this afternoon.
Caro: And besides, we’re pretty interested in the movie script and stuff.
Arf: Well that’s not unexpected.
Fate: Well then, let’s go.
Arf: There’ll be scripts there, you can look’em over while you wait for us.
Caro: I see!
03 - Shiryou Iroiro
03 – Lots of movie info/materials
Caro: Whoa, amazing, there’s so much stuff!
Erio: Paper/script material and… over there are customs/props?
Caro: School uniforms and barrier jackets… Amazing! And a to-scale sized (movie version) Bardiche and Raising Heart.
Erio: You’re right! I wonder if we can hold/touch this.
Fate: They said feel free and go ahead.
Erio: Okay, then I’ll just hold it for a bit. Whoa, it’s not as heavy as the real thing, but it’s still pretty heavy.
Caro: Oh, let me try, let me try! Whoa, you’re right.
Arf: Hey, don’t drop it.
Caro: Don’t worry about it.
Erio: The design’s pretty different.
Arf: Hm, you’re right. I guess it looks tougher/rougher than the real thing.
Erio: But it looks pretty cool on its own merit. It feels pretty weapony (like a weapon).
Caro: Here Arf, you hold it too!
Arf: Hm, let’s see then.
Caro: Heheh, you look pretty good holding it.
Arf: Really?
Caro: Yup! You look real cool!
Arf: Now that you mention it, when was it (how many years has it been since) the last time I held Bardiche?
Fate: How many years? What are you talking about, it wasn’t that long ago.
Arf: I’m just exaggerating a bit.
Caro: When was the last time you held it?
Arf: Hm, I guess when the real thing was just made.
Erio: When it was just made? Then…
Arf: When Linith had just finished making it and was still brand new. I tried it out a bit.
E+C: Oh~!
Fate: And then there was that time during the Yami no Sho incident/case (Book of Darkness) when you saved me in the desert.
Arf: Oh, that time against Signum, but back then I quickly put it into standby mode.
Fate: Oh I see.
Caro: Erio-kun’s held the real one before, right?
Erio: When I was still a child. Have you Caro?
Caro: It was such a precious/important thing, so I was afraid of scratching it up, but I did touch it while Fate was holding it.
Erio: Oh I see.
Fate: Hm, this seems to be the color scheme information.
Erio: Whoa, amazing… Oh hey, this is Nanoha-san!
Caro: You’re right! Ahaha, and Arf’s so big!
Arf: Yup, I used to be huge!
Caro: It feels different from looking at an (photo) album.
Erio: Whoa! Is this when Admiral Chrono was young?!
Caro: You’re right! He’s so small!
Fate: Ah, he must be the same age as Erio in this.
Arf: Actually, Chrono might be a year (a little) older.
Erio: Wow…
Caro: Hehe, Amy-san hasn’t changed at all!
Arf: Yeah…
Erio: It looks like Librarian Yuuno’s face hasn’t changed at all. But he wasn’t wearing glasses back then.
Fate: You’re right; I wonder when Yuuno started wearing glasses… Me and Nanoha chose his (glass) frame.

Woman: Sorry interrupt you Captain, but Master Librarian Yuuno is here.
Chrono: Hm, he’s here five minutes before of our meeting… As usual that guy is so scrupulous/punctual.
Woman: He’s waiting in the reception/lobby area.
Chrono: Got it, I’ll go right away... Yo Master Librarian, sorry for the trouble of making come over here personally.
Yuuno: I’ve brought all the survey/investigation data and reports over.
Chrono: Thanks for the help.
Yuuno: I got everything you wanted here, if need anything else, just ask any time you want.
Chrono: How reliable. Well, since you’re here, I have something to give you.
Yuuno: I hope it’s another bothersome inquiry/research request.
Chrono: It’s got nothing to do with work. Last time I was cleaning up my room, I found a bunch of unorganized photos/pictures.
Yuuno: Pictures/photos?
Chrono: Old photos, from our childhood.
Yuuno: Oh, you have a lot of them. From ten years ago?
Chrono: A bit before that, by a couple years about. There are pictures that have you in them, if you want you can take them or have them printed.
Yuuno: Well, I don’t particularly… Oh, you have some pictures of Hayate here.
Chrono: Once I looked at them, I confirmed that these are all the pictures we’ve ever taken.
Yuuno: Whoa, really. Er, huh, what the heck is this photo/picture? Why are you and Knight Carim happily gardening together?
Chrono: Hayate and Rossa should be in there too. I was volunteering to help the Church charitable works.
Yuuno: You’re right. Hey, Amy and Sister Schach too.
Chrono: Then we all got eat some of those tasty potatoes shown in the picture.
Yuuno: Oh…
Chrono: What good will come from looking at my pictures? Look for your own pictures.
Yuuno: I know that but you know, Chrono used to be such a stiff guy with a sour face. So I find it really surprising that you got along with anyone.
Chrono: I know I wasn’t cuddly guy and all, but I don’t think I was that bad.
Yuuno: You’re very close friends Knight Carim and Investigator Acous.
Chrono: You can indeed call Knight Carim a friend of mine but it’s because I owe her so much
Yuuno: Fate told me once, that when Chrono and Investigator Acous are together, he acts more like a kid than when he was an actual fourteen years old.
Chrono: Regarding Rossa, well… He’s an old friend of mine or an old frenemy (bad company) of mine that I grew up with from boyhood to questionable adulthood.
Yuuno: Well that makes sense.
Chrono: And besides, it’s the same with you and Nanoha. You’ve maintained the same sense of distance/connection since you were nine.
Yuuno: Of course I have. She’s my very important childhood friend. It’s the same as Chrono and Fate.
Chrono: Well Fate and I are brother and sister after all. I still don’t quite get the relationship/connection/distance between you two.
Yuuno: What relationship/distance are you talking about? I’m telling you we’re just ordinary childhood friends.
Chrono: Hm…
Yuuno: We met and became friends when were nine years old. After that, we took different paths in life, but when we meet we laugh and talk, and we share our joys and troubles to each other when we need to. Isn’t that what a childhood friend is?
Chrono: When you put in words, it seems simple indeed. And Nanoha does say the same thing.
Yuuno: See.
Chrono: Though, Nanoha herself described you in this way.
Yuuno: Oh?
Chrono: To Nanoha, you are her magic teacher who also the legendary Master Librarian managed to organize and maintain the Infinite Library/Archive.
Yuuno: Hm.
Chrono: Her most admirable friend. Moreover, long ago a very cute ferret…
Yuuno: Erg, stop right there! Don’t say it as if I used to be an actual ferret long ago!
Chrono: Hm? Weren’t you a ferret the evolved into a real human?
Yuuno: Urg, oh… never mind…
Chrono: In short, to Nanoha, you’re her respected teacher and benefactor. In addition, even now, you’re her gentle childhood friend.

Woman: Captain, Master Librarian, sorry to disturb you. I have a message from Investigator Acous.

Woman: These are his exact words. “Since you’re with the Master Librarian and all, why don’t we all have lunch together? If so, I’ll be there to see you in ten minutes.” That is all.
Chrono: Flippant/unpredictable as usual. So how about it Yuuno?
Yuuno: Sure, why not?
Chrono: Tell him, we’ll be waiting.
Woman: Roger, I’ll tell him that.
Chrono: That reminds me, how is Nanoha’s little librarian?
Yuuno: Oh, you mean Vivio?
Chrono: Does she go to the Infinite Library/Archives often still?
Yuuno: Yup, she comes quite often. Recently together with friends
Chrono: That’s one unusual/rare elementary third grader.
Yuuno: There are plenty of books there, but it seems she really enjoys exploring the library. Vivio and her friends are very popular amongst the other librarians.
Chrono: I see…
Yuuno: Vivio’s going to be more and more like Nanoha. I mean that in all sorts of way.
Chrono: Well that might be true. She gave out the feeling that she’s like her mother. I look forward to her growth/development.
Yuuno: Truly!
05 - Erio to Caro
05 – Erio and Caro
Erio: Well then Fate-san, Arf.
Caro: We’re going to finish up our errands and paperwork now.
Fate: Okay, have a safe trip.
Arf: We’ll meet up at Fate’s room later, okay?
E+C: Yes, we’re leaving!
Fate: Well then, let’s get on with our task/job.
Arf: Yeah, let’s shop and then go home. We’ve gotta to give those two a feast.
Fate: Yeah. You know, when Nanoha looked over the movie material, she fondly started remembering.
Arf: Hm…
Fate: It really makes you remember about the past.
Arf: Does it make you feel lonely/sad?
Fate: A little, but I’m fine because Arf is with me.
Arf: Hehehe~! But you know, things have changed a lot since then.
Fate: Yeah.
Arf: If we told our old selves what was going to happen to them, they wouldn’t believe it.
Fate: Oh, Nanoha said that too.
Arf: Really?
Fate: She bet Arf’s past self would ask ‘Why am I so small’ in shock.
Arf: Nah, she would first ask ‘Why’s Fate so big!?’ and then get all shocked/surprised.
Fate: Hehe, you might be right.
Erio: Hm, let’s see. We’ll head to the Service Bureau and give a status update
Caro: Then we’ll go order a new uniform for Erio-kun that’s one size bigger.
Erio: That’s right. After that, we’ll go to the Department of Cultural Affairs to submit that investigation report and get it approved/cleared.
Caro: Ri-right, and we brought pictures with us too.
Erio: Yeah, after that we need to give our gifts to Nanoha-san and the other vice-captains.
Caro: Yeah, we need to contact them first though…
Erio: I’m sure they’re all busy though, so we’ll probably get the office to hold on it for them.
Caro: Um, ah, wait for me, Erio-kun!
Erio: Caro?... Huh? When did you get so far behind me?!
Caro: Don’t leave me behind!
Erio: Are you all right?
Caro: Thank goodness.
Erio: You’re really bad at walking around in the city, Caro.
Caro: Urg, I’m not great with crowds/busy places. It must be because I’m so short/small, so I’m easily overlooked by everyone.
Erio: In that case, you should use your Lightning Squad evasion skills.
Caro: I am evading/dodging, but the more I evade, the more I go in a different direction.
Erio: Ah…
Caro: And when I try to go back in the right direction, the further away… the further away…
Erio: Um, er… Um, it’s pretty empty over here, why don’t we go this way? We’re not in a hurry after all.

Fate: All right. The ingredients are prepared.

Nanoha: Hello. Arf? It’s Nanoha.
Arf: Hey, what’s up?
Nanoha: You’re going over to Fate’s place, right Arf? Erio and Caro are going over too.
Arf: Actually, I’m already at Fate’s place.
Nanoha: Oh, really?
Arf: Hm? Something wrong?
Nanoha: Well, you see, I got a gift from downtown for you guys. A sort of snack everyone might like, so I was hoping to give it to you somehow.
Arf: Oh, really! But has Erio and Caro contacted you yet? They said they wanted to give you a gift too and are heading over.
Nanoha: Oh, really?
Arf: I’m sure they’re heading over to your place. Are you at the office?
Nanoha: Yes.

Erio: Oh, Nanoha-san, it’s been a very long time.

Nanoha: No, not at all. It’s been so long you two, are you here for spring break only?
Caro: Yes!
Nanoha: Ah~, after not seeing you for a little while, you’ve both grown again.
Erio: Thank you very much.

Erio: This is a bottle of Supool made honeyed fruit syrup.

Fate: I just got a call from Caro. They said they’re heading back now.
Arf: I see, did they manage to meet the vice captains?
Fate: They didn’t get to meet Vita but they managed to say hi to Signum.
Arf: I see, haven’t heard from Signum lately, how is she?
Fate: It look likes she’s very busy at work, but she’s doing well with Agito together.
Arf: Agito looked pretty naughty but she’s a good kid.
Fate: She learns her job very quickly and works very hard/seriously. And, you would never guess, but it seems that Signum’s pretty soft on Agito (coddles/spoils).
Arf: Really? It’s hard to imagine.
Fate: Whether they’re together or with the rest of the Yagami family, they look really happy either way.
Arf: Oh, I can imagine that. Rein and Agito are a really merry chibi/miniature duo.
Fate: Merry all over. They’re always going all out.
Arf: I see.
Fate: Yeah.
Arf: But ya know, are unification devices and their Lords really any different from familiars and Masters?
Fate: Um, well, I’m sure it’s pretty different. In any case, but the living together part is the same. At the very least, Hayate’s not treating Zafira, Rein and Agito any different from each other.
Arf: Well, Zafira is one of Hayate’s guardians.
Fate: That’s true… Hm… Oh, I know. Unification devices are like children to their Lord but familiars are like protectors/guardians to their Master and family.
Arf: Hm, really? Hm, I don’t really know…
Fate: Arf is a mirror of her charge. And she’s protected me for such a long time, and you take care of Erio and Caro and our home.
Arf: Ahahaha… Well it’s true that I like taking care of the housework and children. When I see a child smile, I feel really happy.
Fate: Hm, it must be because I didn’t smile a lot as a child long ago.
Arf: Er, it’s nothing like that all. And besides, the length of time Fate stopped smiling was pretty short.

Fate: That reminds me, I think I saw it on tv when I was at Nanoha’s house.
Erio: Nanoha-san said she happened to be passing by, when she found there were only five or six people in line, so could buy it right away.
Arf: Oh, how lucky! I guess Aces are blessed (by the Goddess of good luck) with good luck.
Erio: I get that feeling too.
Arf: Oh, I’m so happy! I love the taste of milk!
Caro: Me too!
Fate: Same with Erio too.
Erio: Um… Er… It’s something we received from Nanoha-san, so I respectfully shall partake in it.
Arf: Well then, let’s have this after dinner for dessert. I wonder if it’s a good idea to keep it iced/cold.
Caro: It says that keeping it cold is best before serving.
Arf: Okay then, it’s been decided. You two should go get changed. I’ll make some tea for you.
E+C: Okay!
Caro: But you know, Nanoha-san and Fate-san are really great friends.
Fate: Hm, I guess. She is one of my oldest friends.
Erio: Next would be Arisa-san and Suzuka-san.
Caro: After that would be Commander Yagami.
Fate: Yup, those four are my best friends since elementary school.
Caro: Is there some secret to maintain such a long-lasting friendship?
Fate: Hm… I wonder what it is… We’re all just doing what we usually do.
Arf: Maybe it’s that? You first met by blowing each other up (literally, hitting each other), and everything after that was pretty simple.

Arf: They say it was that way with Nanoha and Arisa. It was the same with Fate and Nanoha too!
Fate: Ah… The same with Signum too.
Erio: We once heard the story how you two met from Vice Captain Signum

Erio: She said, from the very beginning that Fate-san was a very persistent and strong child.
Caro: That reminds me, how was it like for Fate-san when she first met Nanoha-san?
Fate: Hm, I wonder how it felt.
Caro: What was your impression or the atmosphere like?
Fate: In the beginning, I thought to myself, what a lovely girl. And later, what a wonderfully straightforward looking girl. But in the beginning, our relationship between us was, um how do I say?…
Arf: Well, enemies.
Fate: It was sort of like that.
Caro: I see.
Fate: She would chase me down and tell me what she had on her mind and felt. She said to me, “I want to be your friend”.
Arf: After that there were lots of twists and turns, but soon enough they became friends. After that, they’ve always been friends.
Erio: Without a doubt.
Caro: So, the most important part/fact is that you went all out on (fought) each other (blew each other up)? Huh, oh no Erio what should we do! If it’s that the case, we haven’t fought each other/hit each other that much at all!
Erio: Um, yes we did. At the escalators, when Caro fell and we slammed into each other.
Caro: Oh… So that’s all right/fine then?
Arf: I think for you two, that’s good enough.
Erio: You know this reminds me of our time at Mobile Six.
(Caro: You’re right, since we meet with Vice captains today.)
(Arf: That reminds me, where is Vita?)

Fate: Ah, how nostalgic. To remember those days. That time when I was so weak and small, and couldn’t do anything for myself. All I could do was turn my eyes and run away. When Nanoha faced me squarely. About Precia-okaa-san, Linith and Alicia.
Arf: Ah, talking about nostalgic, that reminds me. Those photos, the ones that Chrono sent us.
Fate: Oh… Oh yeah, you’re right. Pictures of me and Arf from long ago and pictures of your childhood too. There are quite a lot of them.
Erio: Urg.
Caro: Oh really? I want to see them!
Fate: Wait for me then, I’ll go get them.
Arf: Oh, I’ll go with you. I’ve gotta go sort them.
Fate: Hm, yeah. Wait for us you two.
E+C: Okay! (Okay…)
Caro: Erio-kun, why are you so embarrassed about looking at old pictures?
Erio: That’s because… all my childhood pictures/photos show me being carried by or holding hands with Fate-san.
Caro: The same with me.
Erio: Well, that’s true but…
Caro: You can remember it, so isn’t it fine? Remembering who carried you or held hands with you as a child and how it felt, helps keep us all a family.
Erio: Um… Well… No matter how I try to think about it, I still feel really embarrassed about it!
Caro: I understand how you feel but I think you should ignore/endure it and just have fun (because it’s fun).

I think this is the track that everyone was kicking a fuss about. Very nice family atmosphere.

Personally I see two interpretations of this scene:
1.) Nanoha and Fate's relationship is very 'traditional' in that Fate (the 'husband') doesn't do anything while Nanoha (the wife) handles all the chores and whatnot.
2.) Nanoha is treating Fate like a guest asian style, ie, serving her every need.
Anyways, yes, from start to finish, Vivio is always at a climax! I've already made her an honourary Kamen Rider, but that may not be a good thing Female Kamen Riders have a 99% mortality rate I guess this is where the Saint's Armour comes in handy.
