Definitely. Poll #2 should be interesting to see. Somehow, I still think that Mio will be the highest. Probably because since her moe was so much in the first season, it still lingers around at full force...

Probably because we haven't seen much of Sawako's metal past prior to this. All we knew is that she's a teacher who once played in a metal band, that she got a wild side as a result, and that she can play some awesome guitar.

If KyoAni hadn't decided to make this episode, I doubt a lot of people would find her all that interesting. Now that we finally see what her old band was all about and how skilled Sawako really is, a lot of people (including myself) have gained a lot more respect for her.

Ui's personality got fleshed out earlier, so people have received a better impression of her sooner than of Sawako. Will probably take a while before that evens out.

Haha that's one of the best scenes in K-ON! I'm like "Woah! What an awesome teacher!". Geez, if I saw any of my teachers running like that in the halls I'll freaking scream in disbelief and excitement and might as well cheer her on!

Did no one watch the first season? Her big reveal of her past in S1 was the best part of the show other than the final bonus episode.

I don't think it was all THAT spectacular myself, though. It was interesting, that's for sure, but it didn't really leave a huge impression on me. I think that is why it took me (and probably others too) till S2E10 to fully appreciate Sawako.

Then maybe Mio should start sticking up for herself a bit more instead of cowering in fear whenever she's bullied or hears a scary story. And hitting Ritsu on the head doesn't help, only seems to make her more motivated to go on.

Well this poll is mostly based off the first season, and we all know Ritsu has become far more hilarious during the second season

Disagree, without Ritsu there would be no Mio. Just think about it, why do you like Mio? Because she looks cute? And who most of all makes her look like that?
That's right... RITSU! If Ritsu was not there then Mio mostly wouldn't get those moe moments of hers and her popularity would be low.

So yeh, without Ritsu Mio is an empty spot, at least for me.

Ritsu's hilarity and awesomeness were as just as full-fledged in the first season in a brilliantly subtle way as to not outshine the rest of the cast!!
