Before making a opinion about thei situation, how much stronger than usual is the UK military presence around the Farklands? Is surely stronget than usual as they are doing some exercise right now but is this so much more than what they usualy keep there ?

The latter. I been listening to BFBS for at least two years and the UK Navy's activity over there has been normal. It's just now with the Argentinian President's stronger stance to reclaim the islands and Prince William deployment that the Argentinian government are making it a big deal over it.

The Greeks are really going nuts. PBS says that early polls have shown voters favoring parties LEFT of the Social-Democrat (or maybe Socialist?) PASOK!

It's tough but because Greece is no Italy let alone Germany in terms of economic output, them leaving the Euro would be even worse wouldn't it?

While it is true that pro-growth strategies need to be put into place, frankly they can't happen until the Greek government cuts the fat from the public docket and reforms labor laws.

Real damned if you do, damned if you don't situation if you ask me.

*cue 4th Reich jokes of Germany invading Greece to force their workers to accept reformed labour laws*

I find it rather disturbing that just one country can drag down an entire currency. Maybe my kids will never hear of the Euro in their lives.

Iran to reveal 'very big nuclear achievements'

Quote:
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Iran will soon reveal "very big new nuclear achievements."

Ahmadinejad spoke at a rally in Tehran on Saturday as Iranians marked the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution that toppled the country's pro-Western monarchy and brought Islamic clerics to power.

Ahmadinejad did not elaborate on the upcoming announcement but insisted Iran would never give up its uranium enrichment — a process that makes material for reactors as well as weapons.

The West suspects Iran's nuclear program is aimed at producing atomic weapons, a charge Tehran denies.

Iran has said it is forced to manufacture nuclear fuel rods, which provide fuel for reactors, on its own since international sanctions ban it from buying them on foreign markets.

Iran to announce 'very major' nuclear advance
Revolutionary Guard commander threatens to his Israel, US bases with thousands of missiles if country is attacked

"In the coming days, the world will witness Iran's announcement of its very important and very major nuclear achievements," Ahmadinejad told a crowd at Tehran's Azadi (Freedom) Square in a speech relayed live on state television.

Now the question remains....what are they working on, and why tempt fate like that if they are not making nuclear weapons like they say they are not doing?

is to be read as :

"In the coming days, the world will witness the size of Iran's balls and how hairy it is." El Persia Presidente spoke at a circus while flinging out bread, clad with a heat-retaining chador around his head to keep his braincell count low.
Meanwhile, I shall go pick a few defence stocks to watch; since I may not be able to do so again in the near future.

I was just a kid in junior college when she hit the charts with her rendition of I Will Always Love You. While I was never a fan, I usually found her better than Mariah Carey, the other singer during her time she was frequently compared to. To die at just 48, such a shame.

Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Jimmy Hendrix, Elvis Presley.

When will we stop losing good musicians to drugs?

too bad

her biggest mistake was marrying bobby brown who got her into drugs. unfortunately even after divorcing him, she couldn't pull herself out of it.

I'll be expecting a very bad and possibly teary morning for my country here, for most aspiring divas (it seems that if one wants to be a star, she needs to have a high-pitched voice that could shatter windows) often look up to Houston as an example.

Considering that I was done fixing my computer the night before, what a sober way for me to start the day.

Thank you for all the memories and good night, Whitney.

Insight: Poland's shale gas play takes on Russian power

Now this is interesting. For the past couple centuries we know that people have been fighting over oil wherever it has been found, from the Middle East to the Baltic States and America.

The thing is that we have been used to be dependent on light crude as our source of energy, then now comes along shale gas which burns easier with less byproducts, but the environmental effects researches have been hampered by interest-funding from various energy firms looking to maintain their monopoly.

Now something new comes into play : financial capability control by bigger nations on smaller nations of their energy exports. This could stand to increase the multi-polarisation of our world, or it would cost us our collaborative abilities to address more threatening issues on this blue marble.
