I'm a big fan of Malice Mizer, admittedly I haven't been exposed to any JRock/Pop Bands or Musicians aside from them so calling them my favourite is a bit bias and unjustified.

I enjoy alot of their work, I'm a big fan of bands combining gothic themes and rock/metal with classical music, especially notable in their last album before they split up.

I'm a bit indiffierent to much of their Gackt era stuff but I don't mind the lighter and more romantic mood of that era but it certainly wouldn't rank up there as a favourite.

I've only heard one song from their Tetsu era (Baroque) but I enjoyed his vocals in it as well as the music backing it.

Quite nice to see I'm not the only Mizer fan here, although I didn't expect to be the only one it's certainly a nice change of pace as compared to other forums.

I like Iida Ayaka's songs. She is only 18 and she has a very nice voice.

Not sure if i'm out of date to say my favourite singer is Utada Hikaru heh..well i think she still rocks...=)I mean her voice is getting better with each new song!!!She's the 2nd j-pop singer i heard before getting addicted to j-pop songs...and up to now i'm still listening to her-Flavor of Life =) Just can't get her songs out of my head...heh

Plus she's pretty talented as well to be able to compose/arrange her songs herself...i mean when i first heard she somewhat compose the songs herself it just shocked me..i mean she was young then and how many people of her age then can actually do so...We have Boa, Ayumi...blah blah..yea their songs are catchy...they can somewhat sing but they don't create their own songs... in terms of talent and voice i would still for Hikki =)

Composer-wise, my favourite would be Kouhei Tanaka - he's been around and composed work for such series as One Piece and Kaiketsu Zorori, and I always look forward to seeing his name on a credits list. His music can be lively and full of giddyness when the mood calls for it, and so I tend to associate his name with a positive light. If you want a definitive example of what I especially love about his work, just listen to "We Are!" or "Gomu Gomu no Bazooka!!" on the first OST. Ryo Sakai from Kino no Tabi is also very good, yet I have not heard him in anything else. I only wish there were an official soundtrack released for that anime, because the music is wonderfully beautiful.

Two awesome bands are Janne Da Arc (much of their music has been associated with the various Rockman series) and UVERworld, performers of the second BLEACH opening. I'd especially buy their CDs once I get the chance.

Pierrot, Glay, Hyde, and Gackt.

Although, if I were to choose only one, it would be Gackt.

I'm listening to Shéna Ringo's new single. So sweet, so lively, so charming, so dreamful... She is indeed the Japanese Godess of Music. Can't wait for her Sakuran OST. I dunno about the movie but the OST will rock !

Didn't Pierrot disband last year?

Anway, for rock, I prefer Ken Yokohama, Last Alliance, Beat Crusaders, The Pillows, Tokyo Jihen, Sparta, and Under Graph.

As for jpop: Chara and Santara. ( Secretly V6, although I don't tell friends ). That's about it.

I'm a casual fan of Melt Banana, a wonderfully chaotic j-punk band; the cute/manic female vocals are fun, listen to their cover of "Surfin' USA"...the ending is a instrumental riot.

HEAD PHONES PRESIDENT are nice, if you're into metal at all. I think they take a more subtle approach to metal than most J-rockers and again; female vocals ^^
