To bring up an example from a completely different series. I personally really like the ending to the original Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. I thought it was epic and truly felt like the end of an era. It was truly an "ending" rather than a mere stopping off point, though at a VERY high level you could still call it a stopping off point. But there were a lot of casualties along the way and some readers didn't like that. In my mind, for this series, a "good" vs "bad" ending comes more down to how the MC evolves by the end. She has had a tendency (much more so in the WN) to hide away from others and her feelings or difficult problems. She wants to live with pride. But she also wants to run away from D because D's so scary. But is that really living with pride? So to me, if we have a satisfying resolution to that question then it would be a good (satisfying) ending. |

That's fair. I was just asking because it confused me
![]() Judging from your last paragraph though, I have this slight suspicion that you probably won't like the LN ending. But maybe I'm wrong on that. Nevertheless share your opinion when you have read it eventually ![]()

Quite relieving, I wasn't the only one with a similiar reaction. Indeed, Vol.16 at the beginning of this month was the last. It's some weird stuff how fast they released it. Vol. 15 was about 2 months ago iirc. I would have expected some kind of annoucement tbh.

no spoilers from what I often visit.
Vol 13 is more on explaining on what happen in between. A little bit of fight against the defense system of the system but its not that much exciting. I feel the WN did more good when they did the pope, maou, spider, oni meeting. the LN is too short or less detailed there. I also notice that it lacks dialogues and more on monologues and narrations in general. a bit disappointed there.

Seen the epilogue of the WN, well in the end Shiro's side won, although I would have liked them to explain in better detail what happened to the world and the characters (in the end Oni-Kun was left dead), and in the end Shiro finished like a little spider and she's captive with D, well in time maybe she'll be able to escape.
I liked the novel a lot, and although its pauses were long, it was a good series, to expect more from the franchise and the author. |

I just finished wn and I'm completely disappointed in the epilogue. lots of scenes skip there just to show D and M with shiro in cage. I'm actually happy the battle because it kept me excited on how they kept being pushed back by the pope group and how stupid plot armor/shun is. this is how shounen villains probably feel. no matter how absurd the situations, the protagonist/mc has the plot armor powa to win the game. its really ridiculous to be honest. it's a good thing shiro cheats. but that epilogue is really lame and annoying.
