In the public eyes, its a big issue, especially if were you live is a bit religious.. and they would see it as a sin. Like where I live.

So... since sometime earlier this year,[so going to end up wording this next part badly I can tell D: ] I've admitted[or accepted maybe?] that I want to become a girl *runs away and hides*. And I've talked to some of my close friends on it a number of times now.
And I do want to go though with it; I've already looked into it and talked two friends of friends whom have done it, so I understand the process and really it doesn't bother me at all.

But my real issue here is I am a bit afraid of losing family and friends due it as while I doubt my mother or brother would have anything againist me for it, my father and members of my extended family I am honestly not sure how he would react plus I have no idea how to attempt to bring it up to talk to them about it. And since I am still depending on my family for support due to college and not working part of me says it would be better to just put off until after college; however I've found doing so far this to be really eating away at me at times which has made it rather to keep my motivation at times...

Plus doing that has a few rather bad downsides, for example having be forcing myself to avoid becoming interested in anyone romantically since then because I don't want to hide it from them[and risk it being some unaccepting/closed minded person], and telling them but hiding it from others would leave me worrying about them letting someone who I didn't want to know either accidentally or purposefully as I would really hate to be a situation where my parents found out from someone besides me.

Or I've thought so I'll wait until I had a job and etc, but then it kind of hit me if I don't know how my parents would react could I really assume my my future employer would just not care that I was in the process of changing? Plus according to the one's I've talked to it's generally better to go thru younger rather than older.

So ya I'd really rather tell them and start it sooner rather than later, but I am still having trouble with it due fear/nervousness... not mention I'll have to explain that this doesn't mean that I'm suddenly not interested in women [still pansexual].

I am straight, always have been.

I think it's a completely personal subject. Who and what you are is nothing someone else has the right to complain about. Much less make a state matter about.

That doesn't make a lot of sense. Most straight people I know (men and women both) tend to hang out with members of the opposite sex more than members of the same sex.

Probably because they want to get into someone's pants, would be my guess.

Well, I see what you mean there, and for the most part you're right. Maybe I didn't explain well enough.

Usually, people at my school hang around a mixed group, comprising of both genders on varying ratios. They [wrongly] claim me to be gay because I literally hang around groups of only women more often than not.
Which still doesn't make sense, because then they'd be indirectly calling them homosexual too, since they're mostly hanging around the same gender too... :\

It's quite evident that the new generation is a much more tolerant one, seeing as how DADT was voted for repeal, and the California Proposition 8 is being tried, and No on 8 is winning.

I don't understand their futile desire to suppress a human demographic.

Me and my mom had a laughing fit when we heard about a non-profit organization that was aimed towards the "rehabilitation" of homosexuals, trying to "convert" them.

Does everyone agree that homosexuality is genetic, as is every other sexuality?

Nature vs Nurture is an ongoing, heated debate among most groups of people, methinks.

There's really no 100% definitive proof one way or the other.
I have my own personal beliefs on it, but those may very well be biased due to my lifestyle.

True, there isn't anything to prove genetic inheritance of it, but I don't understand how one could just choose to be gay, y'know?

And I don't really feel it could be caused by the environment, considering that there are homosexuals raised in a strict family who wouldn't accept such a thing.

Love whoever you want. I don't care what gender. I don't think it should matter...

truthfully it doesn't matter what sex you are as long as two love each other it is fine imho and people should get there head out of thier ass and realize this fact but to ansewer your questions
