It's really interesting episode. The protagonist in interesting though I constantly wished he would just speak up about how he was feeling, even though I know that's really not what the Japanese do, or even many men in general.
His treatment here was really horrible to see, and yet so realistic, you did feel bad for him, though at the same time, I've seen and myself, have been, that ungrateful child before and you don't even realize until later what you had at the time. That homeless guy at the end though actually hit me even harder, as many parts of him reminded me of my own father. The alien part was a little jarring, and I don't know whose idea it was to put subtitles on top of subtitles. But overall, I like what I'm seeing.

The aliens felt the need to revive the two humans they killed, yet they didn't care about turning them into superweapons that can apparently endanger the entire planet. It's pretty odd. They did seem split on the issue though.
Felt pretty bad for Inuyashiki throughout the episode. At least he has his dog, but knowing who wrote this, I wouldn't be surprised if poor Hanako suffered a horrible fate. In fact, it's pretty much guaranteed to happen. His new body is a nice reward for him, it seems it only needs water to function, and can do tons of cool stuff. More importantly, he won't have to worry about cancer anymore.

The aliens IMHO are to be taken as a plot device and nothing more. They're just some random supernatural thing that happens and gives Inuyashiki cyborg superpowers. In another story it may have been just something like he acquired magically powers without any explanation, but Hiroya Oku being himself, it had to be aliens and cyborgs .

The Anime was amazing(i knew there a manga but will read it later) and yeah the first 10 minutes feels would be from another series itself and later bang, he become a terminator.
When he save the homeless and cried that was so touching, he still feels and know he is a human even if he have a weird robot body now and being called hero was pretty nice. So we start this ride, hope is a nice one |

I feel like a lot of the shots are pretty weird, like they don't flow very well. At least I get that feeling from it so far.
CG looks really bad sometimes as well which also means some scenes look stiff. His voice feels somehow forced, like a young guy trying to act old. Not sure how old the VA is just the impression I got from the scenes. All in all I honestly expected more from MAPPA. The premise however looks interesting, will keep watching. I like that the mainchar is old for a change. |

The VA (Kohinata Fumiyo) is 63 years old and a regular actor who has appeared on literally dozens of (live action) TV series in mostly minor roles - and who pretty much hasn't done voice-acting for anime before, that's perhaps why he sounds "forced".
