No rush to do the video, so take your time. As for recording, do the video and audio. Make sure the audio is just your instrument playing the song without the backing track as well. Sync the audio and video together and email them to me (PM me for my email address)

I need to get my drum set back from my old roommate still, he's had it for a few weeks. I'm doing some air-drumming practice so I should be ready. My guess is the video should be done by the weekend of June 9-11.

Audacity to record the audio, and a video camera/webcam to record the video.

Use that if you have a webcam

Assuming you have a way to plug your bass/amp into your computer, most video programs (like Windows Live Movie Maker and iMovie, to pick defaults) have an option to take the amp input as the audio, giving you cleaner sounds on your playing.

But if you don't have that option, BigSmokeDawg has the best alternative. Audacity is the best option as far as free audio goes. And really any kind of recording device will work.

Yup, just make sure your actual audio recording is as good as possible.

As high as you can get it really. 720p will be fine though.

Actually I tried a 1/4" to 3.5mm reducer, from keyboard straight into my laptop's mic jack, recorded with Audacity. Should work fine..

Sounds perfect playing-wise and tone-wise. I gotta get me a 'Stang. I have an EC 1000T with Alnico II Pros, a Tele, and a Jag. The Jag may have to go the 'Stang. Again, great clip.

Looking forward to the big cover project you guys are doing! I haven't touched my guitar in a year, and I'm finally missing it (due to excitement for the K-On movie (just one more month to go!!!)).

Hmmm... do you mind a suggestion? A band cover does sound awesome and all, but how about making a tutorial(s)? For the K-On songs. Since you guys seem to be able to play them well (I can't even play a whole song), I think a tutorial would be very helpful, especially for newbies (and be the trigger for the birth of more K-On cover bands ^^)

Actually, I've been planning to make tutorial videos since December 2011. The problem is going about the tutorial process, it has to be brief, yet actually helpful. If you guys would have suggestions on how it would be done, I could help you all out. Videos tailored to you, by you, to help you.

Hmmm... since I brought it up... Let's see... (glad you're up for it!)
Spoiler for suggestion:
I guess... Hiyokobeat's tutorials are a good example? All I've seen yet is just the Fuwa Fuwa Time tut he made...
And I don't mind long tutorials as long as they're not repetitive.
