My top 5 are

1) Grave of the Fireflies
2) My Neighbor Totoro
3) Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen (It's an OVA but it is movie length so I am counting it)
4) Porco Rosso
5) The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

I am glad I can still make a top 5 list for movies because with series forget about it.

Princess Mononoke all the way. Loved it so very much. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind is a close second.

I have to say, Howle's Movin Castle, Steamboy, and Spirited Away are all great anime titles

To be honest, Sailor Moon S. I just found it to be so emotionally uplifting and with such a good storyline, it tops my list.

Byousoku 5 Centimetre for the beauty of the animation and the emotions it stirred within.

Magic for my eyes and my soul.

Tonari no Yamada-kun. Takahata's best work (and everything he's ever done has been excellent).

Based on my ANN ratings:

10/10 rated movies:
-Byousoku 5 Centimetre
-Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
-Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo
-The Place Promised in Our Early Days

9/10 rated movies:
-Bleach: Memories of Nobody (movie)
-Cardcaptor Sakura Movie 2: The Sealed Card

I'm more attached to movies than series actually, so I love them! I probably can't choose between one of the above, but if I had to, it would be Nausicaä, because that was epic.

I really loved the Air movie. A little more simplified than the series version but just as sad at the end. And I really really loved Whisper of the Heart, which is a Hayao Miyazaki film. So charming and sweet and romantic and doesn't even have to be too emotional for it to work and it works so perfectly.
