v2 is up (yes, when exams are around the corner, you just want to do anything but study)
major changes: -background music using FL studio -louder main vocals minor tweaks: -some note lengths were changed -some lyrics were changed possible problems: -since I redid the dynamics for the vocals, I might have fucked it up. Thoughts and comments very welcome, especially constructive criticism (would be super if you could point out specifics ie the time of the problem and the nature of the problem etc.) |

A little something I like to share. It's a video on youtube I found involving Miku with Tom and Jerry. I thought it was hilariously cute.
Spoiler for Video 1:

Do any of you Vocaloid users have any tips or tricks on how to get the software to try to imitate talking or rapping instead of singing. I have not really tried it. But off the top of my head I'm thinking maybe use a single notes instead.
But are there any other potential tricks to doing this such as tempo or maybe other midi controller automation commands or even signal processing? If anyone has any thoughts or links to potential previous discussions or web documentation on this, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks. |

The trick to imitate talking is to NOT use a single note.
Talk yourself, or better yet, record yourself talking the line you want the vocaloid to say. Listen to it a few times and come up with the "notes" to the talking, input that to the vocaloid program and adjust there to get the rough feeling, then poke around with the dynamics and velocities and whatnot to get the best result. Can't help you with the rapping one though, I'd say try to listen to some vocaloid raps and figure out from the sound. >_> |

Will try to find the time soon to actually sit down and get to learning the program. I bought Vocaloid Miriam a few years ago and actually it's done nothing but gather dust on my shelf. I found it pretty fake so I never really got much use out of it and now I regret it. I wish I spent that time practicing on it so that Miku would be easier to get into. Miku does seem quite a lot more flexible or at least fits the designated genres I'm interested in better. |

MIRIAM and Miku uses a different editor. While having knowledge in V1 may help, it probably wouldn't really make it any easier, since each voice have their own properties that you need to learn by actually playing around with it.
