He starts as weak since he can only use the sword and he doesn't have any power up like a stupidly large amount of mana. His good point is his perseverance and observation power. For a clearer think Ikki from Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan. He trains and puts a lot of effort in order to become stronger, but there are people who are a lot of stronger than him.

About how OP is the MC?

Spoiler:

- He is the "from zero to hero" type that has to crawl tooth and nail every step he grows forward. Initially he is just a normal guy, but eventually he grows "strong" as a swordman, for example he trained in equal grounds with a "top class" knight captain or something, who had actually basically defeated everyone else in the class (the knight offered him a job, even; it's implied that the MC is the strongest one of the first years). Naturally things that need to be defeated are completely beyond normal, so being "top class" at someting is not enough.

He soloed a boss of a dungeon when he was a little bit of a beginner (well, he had a little bit of fire support); challenged the strongest adventurer nearby in his debut day or something (they acknowledge each other and became pals, it was B rank vs E or D rank; I think), and he can adapt through self study sword techniques (he uses the adventurer's finisher, he even used it against him in their first fight). Most of the characters that understand about fighting grow fond of the MC after seeing him fight (which is enough to get him friends, but not enough to fix the slow motion plane crash that the MC life is).

There is a little something, though. It's hinted that the MC has an entity inside him, that apparently resonates with what he wants. The entity use Watashi and hi-jacks his body when he is in danger, usually killing everything in sight (sometimes also expressing his inner wishes). Apparently his childhood friend is sort of aware of this, and she heard his "inner voice" when he was suffering; which will probably change their relationship in the future.

BTW, wasn't hinted that the entity and his older sister had sex? Probably not, but she was undoubtely happy the next morning, right? Did they had an honest talk?


Speaking of, it's sort of suggested that everyone who has black hair / eyes combo "is like this", as in having a crazy, supernatural murderous side hidden inside.

The MC side had only suffered 1 death (oneeeeee-chaaaan! ) and currently it was a group of 4 (female childhoodfriend, female servant / retrainer & cronie / male best friend); the last thing that happened was a noble falling madly in love with Yashiro (the "retrainer") and after several failed attempts to grow closer, he aims to kill everyone around her and "save her" to get her; this ends with said noble getting killed and his dirt getting exposed after an incredibly ferocious fight.

I remember Ama-tan mentioning that the body count increases later.

So far, the MC is not a couple with anyone. He has feelings of love towards all the girls, but he isn't aware of it or doesn't want to admit it. I guess you could consider him as dense, since he thinks that the girls feeling for him are only at a friendship level. But his density isn't on hair-splitting levels like Ichika from IS. Because I feel that the reason that he is dense is because he is scared of jumping into conclusions since his life has been full of suffering.

He actually uses those girls as his "dessert" so this means that he considers them as girls and not just friends

That "inner voice" wasn't from that entity but just the MC having a nightmare and end up voicing out his suffering. Regarding that entity's identity, it's not an alternate personality but a different entity. It's been hinted that when that entity takes over the MC, the MC looks and acts like a girl (although a cruel and crazy one). There's also a side chapter later where an unknown person is "watching" the MC, so that might be her. And that entity had said to the MC in his dream that she will meet him (yandere incoming? )

Also, can you put a spoiler on that Cecile's love? Because I can't help but think that that's a clue regarding why or who is that entity

As for my update speed, consider it to be very slow since I'm busy at school. I'll at least aim for 1 chapter 1 week. If anyone also wants to translate this series, I don't mind just go.

Not "deep enough" to be considered spoiler, but here we go....

(Read at discretion) : Black eyes & Hair are considered taboo in that world, a foreboding of bad luck and from the black haired characters that we have seen, outside the MC you are better of running away from them, and some people seem aware of this (the others try to bully / look down on them, in the long run that doesn't have a pretty end).

Outside that, he had the experience of "betraying" the expectations of his family due to his lack of innate magical talent and his compatibility was taboo (dark) or something (I need to re-check this bit); and after that he had the experience of seeing the most dearest person to him die from a long fruitless struggle against a "disease" and he was basically left being a "lone taboo brat" in a job medium where team of adults (adventurers) are supposed to work.

During school his best friend was forced to ignore him due to the difference in their social positions, and was forced to ignore him to the point that the MC wasn't even told that much, it was really painful for the both of them (that made the 'made up' scene moving; I think?).

(End of discretion) : There is probably more stuff than what I am remember; and since the series seems to be composed on the concept of "the road gets harder the more you travel", there is the chance that those circumstances I just mentioned are basically the highest point of his life. What carries the character is hope and a solid objective (aim for kensei); and it's gonna be a pretty damn hard fight till the end of the tunnel.

so much that I wouldn't be surprised if the ending turn to be a bad one, like a certain spirit kingdom story... ended in a nice boat ending.
