• DAT ASS ! Though it's certainly not the one Shinra and myself hoped to see (Shingen doesn't even take off his mask in the shower?!)
• Another episode, another cute Celty moment. The "family" discussion was just awesome, Shingen is nuts ! I love that guy
• Looks like Mikado stayed good friends with Celty
• If there wasn't already Shinra, I would totally ship Celty x Shizuo...
• Izaya talks about a "cursed" sword called Saika, same name as the spammer. It's obviously related to the slasher incidents. Hearing Celty (Sawashiro Miyuki) mentioning Muramasa brought back good memories from Oboro Muramasa
• Shingen tricks Namie with a toy gun. This guy's as big of a troll as Izaya, I could see them becoming BFF
• More of creepy teacher harassing Anri. When does he die?
• Glad to see Shinra has decided to not keep anymore secrets from Celty. He didn't wait too long before telling her what he knows about Saika
• THE SAME CLIFFHANGER AS LAST WEEK ! Anri really seems in trouble this time. That said, not enough Anri in this episode. Never enough Anri. Next episode will be the right one...probably...right? Damn, I missed the preview. I'm sure she'll be alright anyway.

Aside from the fanservice, I can think of a few comedy gold moments in such an episode. For now, you'll have to make do with that nice shower scene at the beginning of this ep, fufufu...

Well, I have to accept it... there is proof that Celty and Shinra....

Share a bed now days. Until episode 12, Celty and shinra had separate rooms and slept in separate beds. In episode 14 there is proof that they now sleep in the same bed by shinra saying. "then, come to bed soon" "Ja, Hayaku bed ni oide". Now Celty has her work space in the living room instead of her own room.
What I still don't quite get is why Shinra was so surprised and happy when Celty actually accepted in from of Shinra's father that she has fallen for him. Maybe because it is the first time she has acknowledged the fact in front of someone outside of Shinra.

Well that was a lot revealing of what Shingen did. He seems the only person who understand Izaya's game right now.

It's official, Shingen is my favorite character in this show now. I just adore his wacky personality, and what it does during the interaction scenes.

Also i found it pretty awesome that Izaya poured out a cup of tea for Celty.

I definitely enjoyed this episode quite a bit. Everything felt a little more interesting than the prior episode, and I felt that the pace was a lot better than usual, reminiscent of some of the past episodes before the end of the first arc.

I don't think I've actually laughed at an episode of Drrr, or any anime episode for that matter, as much as I did this one:

The scenes with Shinra's father were hilarious, from Shinra walking on him in the shower, to Celty being asked to call him "Daddy", it was all absolutely awesome and gave the episode a nice undertone.

What really made the episode great was that it had essentially everything I would want out of a good slice of this series: comedy, plot/character development, and some serious storyline information that I haven't gotten spoiled for me yet, which is a first.

A couple things here, I haven't read the light novels so these speculations are all mine alone. There's a lot of speculation here, unless you haven't seen the episode I would really like you to look at what I'm thinking here

It's pretty obvious that Anri has something to do with the Slasher, if you've payed any attention to the series it's pretty much telling us that it's her. I think the series tried to distract us a little bit with the whole Anri being present when the Slasher cut up all the wannabe ganguro chicks and essentially wanted to keep us on our toes and re-evaluate what we've been thinking all along.

Also, I wouldn't doubt that Anri's mother was in possesion of Saika, and that's exactly who we see wielding the sword during the gruesome flashback that Anri thinks of when walking home. I don't remember what her family situation is like, or if it's even covered, but the Saika who trolls Dollars Chat after the attacks obviously has some mommy issues. I would venture to guess that Anri's mother attacked her with Saika, possibly then killing herself after she realized what happened, which left Anri to inherit the blade and then go beastmode people with it. Suicide was hinted as a possible underlying theme for some of the future plot when Izaya put such emphasis on it when he was talking to Celty. The man knows a lot more than most people think he does, I wouldn't bat an eyelash if he had a lot of information about Anri and her family.

Secondly, I have a feeling that the poor teacher that seems to be kind of handsy with Anri won't live for very long, or at least won't be in the picture without getting the shit beat out of him by somebody. Kida DEFINITELY knows what he's up to, whether or not he's molested Anri is kind of up in the air (I thought he did earlier on, but his demeanor makes it seem as if he hasn't yet,) and I loved how you could see him sweat when Kida called him out on molesting the other girl who ended up transferring schools.

Since Kida is most likely the leader of the yellow scarves (come on, two gang leaders in a pack of three friends is pretty cool!) and he obviously still has a lot of influence in the group, I thought that he would have either had someone kill or beat the shit out of our friendly molester/teacher by now, although that may come later. Seeing how loyal he is to Mikado (he gives up on Anri, even though the new unknown girl obviously has some meaning to him,) I'm sure that he would do something like this for Anri if things got out of hand, although teacher might back off now that Kida makes it painfully obvious that he knows what he's up to.

Also, I would put all my life savings on Kida being the leader of the Yellow scarves, if it isn't obvious enough, then I just really don't know what to say. He dyed his hair yellow, there was an extreme emphasis on his yellow shoes when he walked in to the unknown girl's room (Drrr looooooves to play off of little visual cues like this,) and you'll notice that in the earlier episodes, whenever someone was asking about the leader of the Yellow Scarves, or when there was a camera shot of some of their members, the next camera shot was ALWAYS a full-frame shot of Kida. I used to be a film major, most shots go by whats called the rule of thirds, where a character should only take up about a third of the screen, any other composition is always used for something like a plot element or a visual cue to the story, Drrr is full of these kind of camera tricks, it's pretty cool to pick up some of these things!

Finally, I went back and looked at the "second" slasher we have now, pretty sure that it's the reporter from the next episode that is featured prominently. The events of the next episode might coincide with those from this episode, especially since so many important characters were absent this episode. The only other person I could think of to be the other slasher would be the perverted teacher, although I don't see how he could get out of school and grab a getup and the saika-knife so fast.

Also, the elevator scene was one of the funniest things I think I've ever seen. I thought Shinra's dad would be creepy and malevolent, sort of a stereotypical bad guy character, but the way that he's been presented so far is much much better than what I would have ever imagined, he's just so awesome.

I think this was an interesting episode with lots of information given. but it seemed slow since there was little action

Good episode, nice balance of humor and mystery. What peaked my interest was the discussion between Shingen and Izaya. At this point I just want to know Izaya's end game. It seems he wants to provoke a full-scale struggle between all his pieces (Yellow Scarves/Dollars/Dullahans/Slasher(s)/Celty's Head?) and have Celty summon Valkyries or unearth some greater plane of existence for himself? (if I read the subtitles correctly)

So-so episode for me. Shingen made it enjoyable. I adore the elevator scene. There seems to be more layers hidden in that goofy personality of him, though. If anything, he may even be the only character who can fight on par with Izaya, mentally of course, though I don't think he bothers much about Izaya's plan to use Celty's head.

Not many Anri scenes as I had hoped. I want more of her. Also, how could she get away from that scene in the last episode only to get attacked again anyway? Many things still left unexplained. Damn cliffhanger!

Shingen is bad-assssssss. Oh man that was a great laugh watching him in action. Shingen is an awesome daddy. XD

His high brain-power seems quite obvious though. The "accidental" blurting out of his "plan" to Celty is obviously to bait her along his and Izaya's game plan.

I do however speculate that near the end of the show, there may be some backstabbing involved. I can imagine someone's going to be greedy when the time for Valkyria comes. Just a wonder who is gonna act first.

Now, off to work again... *SIGH*

You know, I can watch a "Kishitani" family sitcom with just Shingen, Celty and Shinra and not get bored at all. Shingen really is a fun character, best Mad Doctor/Scientist in awhile, terrible father though. He works for Nebula too huh?

This episode was surprising informative, with the reveal of "Saika" we at least have an origin point of the Slasher(s) as well as the chat spammer still lots of questions. If Saika is actually a cursed katana that the Slasher uses, why then have 2 of the 3 Slashers seen wielding a Dagger and a Kitchen knife? How does Haruna and Anri (going by Celty's monologue) fit into it? Izaya's comment after speaking with Shingen also points that the Slasher figures into his schemes.

I also feel rather sorry for Shinra, it seems he didn't know Saika and the sword his father used were one and the same until recently, and there's still some emotional baggage leftover from the whole Yagiri/Dollars affair. Atleast he was upfront with her this time, now what happens is pretty much upto Celty.

I didn't realize it until I watched the subs, but Celty releases more smoke when she blushes. That's a nice touch.

Agreed on pretty much everything. Very good speculations. I don't think the teacher has molested Anri yet, however, it's possible she's been molested by her middle school teacher. Creepy teacher hinted at it when he first met Anri, I don't remember the exact sentence but it was something like: "I've heard about you. I'm going to take good care of you too *pedo smile* "

I didn't realize the attacker at the end was the reporter, but looking closely, it does seem to be the case. Same hat and coat. I have no idea why he would want to attack Anri though. How many slasher does that make now? There's the one with the sword that attacked Celty which I'm sure was Anri, the one with the knife and long hair (Haruna?) and now the reporter. And the one who attacked the 3 stooges is possibly yet another one. Now that it's been confirmed that the red eyes aren't just a "special effect" for the audience, it seems likely that Saika can possess several people at once. That also explains how Saika can spam all those message boards during the time of the incidents.

Shingen is absolutely hilarious, but he still seems pretty evil. He basically suggested that Izaya hurt the people close to Celty, and thus his own son. Of course, that's something Izaya already planned to do...
