Or at least, I was the only source of it, hit-and-miss though I was, until very recently!

In any case, this’ll be the thread to discuss the Date A Bullet anime series! I can’t really talk much about the plot, because the first volume of the novels has a mystery set up that hides the main focus of the series until the very end...but I can at least talk a bit about the setting!

Namely, it’s about Kurumi Tokisaki and an untold adventure in the neighbouring world - the world the Spirits go to when not on Earth - and meeting the Quasi-Spirits - girls who are halfway between humans and Spirits in terms of power.
It’s canon to the main series, although the connections aren’t strong, and no character from DAL proper, outside of Kurumi appears here (outside of flashbacks and the like), nor do any characters from DAB ever appear in DAL. Having watched Date A Live will help, but it isn’t necessary.

There are five volumes published so far, and it’s ongoing still. We don’t yet know when in the timeline DAB is set, although information in the last book puts it at around V17-V19 of the main series. Given that the main anime has only reached up to V12 as of the end of DALIII, there may be some light spoilers!

Finally, there’s a strong amount of yuri subtext!

It’s at least partly due to the fact that the DAB novels have a wildly different art style to the DAL novels.

In this case, not really since it's DAB and not DAL. Right from the get go it was clear be the visual that it would be a different studio. We just didn't which one.

It’s already been basically confirmed that DAL IV is being animated by the studio that does the mobile game Spirit Pledge, judging by the credits when it was announced. There’s nothing to jynx.

The question is if this will be one movie or a movie series. It sounds like the former but I hope it’s the latter. Aside from what kind of ending only one movie would have in an adaptation of an ongoing novel, there ate things in later volumes that a single movie wouldn’t get to, unless they super-compress the plot and story.
