I can confirm that the Rein figure -is- cute. Need to spend some time figuring out where to display it, actually... maybe when Lucky Star is done.
When it's "sold out", that doesn't necessarily mean "gone forever". But... usually it does. ;p Figures are almost always made with a fairly small production run, which is then quickly sold to retailers. So your chances of finding one for order online are pretty low indeed. That doesn't mean it's impossible, though. I found a Good Smile Nanoha (A's version with Excelion) at a con a couple of months ago, at a little mom and pop figure retailer called Wayne's Comic Closet, purely by serendipity. That said, the better figures are going to sell out fast, so unless you have unusual tastes in characters (hey, I like Subaru!) or pay close attention to release dates, pre-ordering is your best bet. On the other hand, it can be tough to see if the figure is going to be any good, with that method, so there's plenty to be said to paying attention to the manufacturer too. |
