What we do know is that ANBU is a job, kind of a special police. So we can assume that you apply for this job like any other, and if you have an acceptable merit and matches the general profile (combat abilities or not) of the ANBU job you might get employed.

Yes but you answered badly
The Bikochu Arc takes place between episodes 148-151. I don't have the episodes to check it out, but I'd say Hinata trains at night in episode 148 or 149 and goes wild in episode 150-151 Ep 187-191 also contain Hinata and she probably uses her filler moves in it, but I don't have a single memory of this arc. (called "Konoha moving center" in wikipedia) |

I have a quick technical question: What is/are tenketsu?
I heard it mentioned in the sharingan vs. byakugan thread as pertaining to the inner coils of the chakra network in the body, but what does that mean, exactly?

The tenketsu are major juncture's in the inner coil network there are 361 of them located on the skin, if a tenketsu is closed it restricts the amount of chakara that flows through the whole network. If 64 of them are closed, the inner coil network shuts down completly which means a ninja has no chakara to work with.
