One of the best anime series i have ever watched, loved the storyline, characters, the story between the characters and the anime style drawings. Great series, little annoyed by the ending the whole "Saber just basically gets up after being beaten down harder than any other character and pulls off a 1 hit kill out of no where" but still a brilliant anime.
Worth watching. and watching again . ^_^ |

I'm 2 years late but I've just marathoned this.
The ending is well-rounded and sad. Although far from what I would have liked, it was the most appropriate ending. The execution of the ending was perfect in the sense it was done with the most heart-wrenching way possible. Mind you, I'm weak with sad endings and loved the cheapness of the My-HiME ending which for most ruined the whole series. Humans are creatures that are impossible to satisfy! It's impossible trying to make out all the complexity, how the source material (Arthur fairytale) has been adapted in this work of fiction and the different paths Saber x Shiro could take (I read most of the ep24 discussion). I shall therefore imagine in my head that the "rule-breaker" dagger was thrown into the Grail which nullified the appropriate rules. The character design of the servants were simply outstanding, with great detail. I was hoping for something better in the end for Arturia, since she's in my mental top 3 "prettiest" anime females (shared with Alicia Florence/ARIA, Belldandy/AMG). The cg renders from the game are nothing short of amazing. I found this anime had pacing issues with the first couple of episodes being very slow, and thus compromising possible character build-up time later in the series. Archer's death was epic heroism but unlike most, I enjoyed the rather twisted Caster arc. I didn't pay too much attention to the animation itself but from what I can tell, it was far smoother than You're Under Arrest 3rd Season (worst I've seen recently and by the same Studio DEEN), but not as smooth as KyoAni stuff. Therefore I'd say it was "good". Music is amazing although there was much repetition. The OST contains approx 40 tracks in one CD which is a bit of a tight squeeze (78 minutes!). 24 episode animes tend to have two OST albums so although it was good music, we had a fair bit of recycling. Overall, I think this series was "good" which would be a 7/10.
