Looks like the sound drama event matches the order with the novel. That explain why Nina sounds so different in that....^^;

As in he's just just a pessimist, always thinking others are living in the light while he's in a place where he can't reach them... His whole thinking is based on that........

oh, I see what you mean then. I suppose his way of thinking just shows how important Grendan is to him. Very, very significant and precious. I think he's going through the initial shock phase of being rejected by everyone in Grendan except Leerin, which is understandable, especially for someone of his age. What I like about Layfon though, is how he manages to learn from others around him and turn his own attitude around without needing anyone to lecture him (as seen in anime). Yay to reflective-thinking individual!

I hope he does the same in the novel cause up to chapter 5 it just seems like he's sulking a bit. Not that I don't like the novel Layfon, I find the novel one much more understandable and makes clear some choices of action that really wasn't clear with the anime.

Well, there's always going to be loss of information from light novel to animes. Or really any tv/movie adaptation of any book. It's not a big deal. Otherwise the pacing would become real bad.

You mean the spoiler at the end of episode 21?

I've read 6 1/2 volumes. And I haven't caught up with the anime yet. So it's later than that. And I assume quite a while before the translations get there.

Since Layfon is allive I doubt about this XD (queen's power is way way way stronger than other HB inlucdeing Layfon... if she wanted she could easyly kill Layfon and others :P)

Mmm I think the main character should be the strongest at the end... am I wrong? :P
Perhaps Layfon will fuse with Goat-chan, who knows...

Spoiler for ch5: Yeah...but at least makes Nina 10 times less bitchy than in the anime. Seriously, the anime directly downplays her to make Layfon more heroic? She's even seems like a coward in the anime sometimes. She hardly have any cool moments compared to the LN. The director of the anime possibily hated her... Spoiler for ch6 speculation: Layfon depressed, FM larvae swarm, Layfon alerts Nina about the dangers but Nina hates him currently and not even listens to him, Layfon sulks until he finds a letter from Leerin, he makes up his mind and visits Harley to adjust his Dite a bit. Then he visits Felli who seriously dissapointed in him(and avoided him because of that). He convinces her and thanks Harley for the new Dite. Meanwhile the platoons are loosing against the bugs and some people even starts to run. Layfon arrives and slays the bugs with Felli's help. Even Felli is surprised by Layfon's power, then Layfon rushes out to finish off the mother and when he returns he collapses on Nina and she forgives him. Something like that...excuse me if i am wrong. And another good point: there's no worry about Meishen's "screentime" currently.
