Kabuto anihilated then anbu team with ease..not a scratch on him. Kabuto about same strength as kakashi - kakashi = Jounin.
BTW: http://narutoguide.narutofan.com/ninja_rankguide.htm You'll see there that Anbu is not even a rank. Its a title. As for naruto Team vs jounins. I think their team is slightly weaker than the weak jounins. PPL who keep saying it was hard for Sound nin to beat the 2 jounins, wasnt really..ok they were exhausted but not damaged. Even if they were exhausted, obviously wasnt enough as they were still able to pull off their jutsus. However it could be said that a team of 4 who works very closely have a huge advantage. Its like If there was me and 3 other freinds beating up 2 strong guys, we wont even take damage cos we can hit from behind and knock out the opponent. However faced on a one on one match wed loose easy as the advantage of numbers is not there. Not to forget that the sound nins have moves that compliments each others in a team fight. BTW I thought Raido got killed when Oro took the hokage. Didnt realise the 2 jounins was genman and Raido, I also didnt realise shizune was there  And I know I seen Iwashi b4 in the anime, but where?

I am going to resist horrifically flaming fontonious for his complete and utter lack of common sense... Obviously he keep stalking about reading the manga when he hasn't read it himself (or doesn't know how to read for that matter.) Stop selectively reading into things and making up ideas on your own. How can ANBU be ABOVE JOUNIN level if <GASP> THEY ARE 1) STUDENTS OF A JOUNIN/CHUUNIN 2) COMPRISED OF CHUUNIN/JOUNIN? Thats right.. If I remember, the latest ANBU teacher was KAKASHI.. who is an elite ***JOUNIN***... It seem sto me that if he is teaching people, they aren't going to surpass him in skill and all of a sudden be on a 'whole new level.'
Where does it say ANBU hunts S-Class criminals? Find the chapter/page and i'll concede that point.. I won't say its IMPOSSIBLE because I don't have a photographic memory, and technically it would make PARTIAL sense. They are kind of like the 'hunter-nin' squad of the Leaf. Thats My take on ANBU.. They are a special unit designed for the defense of Konoha. The reason they 'went after Orochimaru' was, if you actually bothered to read th emanga/watch the episode, was to protect Hokage... At the time, Kazekage (oro) had grabbed Hokage and had a kunai to his throat.. If you were a 'leet ninja' and someone had a knife to your mom's throat, would you just go fightin a bunch of measly scrubs down the street, or would you try and protect your mother? hmmmm Im sure you are going to claim I am wrong.. but let me assure you before you respond, I'm not. Actually the only point of fotonios which is 'kinda' true is that the Anbu purchass class-S criminal (and under class too indeed).
Remember that class S isn't only for Oro or Itachi but also Kisame or Zabuza. They just do it in team, not alone. Their job is about assassination not bravery. Except that, I don't understand why so many people still try to discuss with fotonios. I mean, it's not as he had ever say something intelligent or even logical. |

Even all all the evidence...for Christ's sake, there's a bloody knife still in the body, and a .22 still in the mouth...and he's still stabbing and shooting!!! AHH! Someone put this thing out of its misery! How many times does it have to be said, fotonios? Lemme try to break it down mathematically. S = sound (chuunin?), G = (leaf) genin, J = (leaf) jounin 4S > 2J divide by 4... S > .5J That means one Sound nin by him/herself could NOT have defeated Genma or Raido, but two could. That's the difference between Jounin and Chuunin. 1S > 1G The genin are NOT stronger than the Sound nin. By themselves, each genin was only BARELY able to defeat each Sound nin, each time by self-sacrifice. As a team (the way Orochimaru organized them), they are much stronger. So... 1G < .5J < 1S Get rid of the decimal... 2G < 1J < 2S One Leaf Jounin is stronger than ANY of the 2 Genin. And the four Sound nin BARELY beat the two Jounin...they had to go all out (even if they weren't really hurt, they were quite exhausted afterwards). If one-on-one, the Sounds were technically still quite stronger than the genin...that means the gap between the genin and the jounin is even larger. We could even say that... 3G < 1J (possibly) It would still fit. The genin have only been winning with great casualties. Sacrificing themselves is the most powerful weapon the genin have (kamikaze, so to speak...WWII: a plane's gun turret does some damage, but crashing the whole plane into its target does even more). As far as the ANBU go...PLEASe understand, you poor lost child, that ANBU is a TITLE, not a RANK. There is no Genin->Chuunin->ANBU->Jounin, or whatever order you'd like to see ANBU in. They're an assassination squad, as simple as that. NOWHERE in the manga or anime does it say ANBU is a rank. However, they DO say that people with particular ranks were IN it. Kakashi was ANBU leader once, and so was Itachi. The argument of "ANBU is above Jounin, Mr Anderson! " falls flat on its face when you see that there was a CHUUNIN in charge of it! Do you seeeeeeeeeee??? If they're all ABOVE Jounin, why would they let a CHUUNIN run it? 'Cuz there be other chuunin's in it, der! (Little chuunin, big chuunin, fat chuunin, skinny chuunin, regular chuunin, SUPER chuunin...and Jounin too.) Okay, little  now from overexertion...must go lay down...

(I am sure I have lost you by now, considering your lack of attention to detail in the Manga.) I don't know why you are talking about how strong ANBU are in the first place.. If you remember, there were like 3 or 4 ANBU Gaurding Sasuke in the Hospital and Kabuto handed them their ass.. So you are saying Kabuto > 4 ANBU > Elite jounin.. however, Kabuto RAN from Kakashi who is only a Elite Jounin... Do you follow that? Kabuto > 4 ANBU 1 ANBU > Kakashi so 4 ANBU >>>> Kakashi so Kabuto >>>>++++ Kakashi VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY WRONG.. Do I make myself clear? two things:
1. I believe Gai and Kakashi ARE jounin as jounin IS elite... there's nothing higher for them to be (besides Hokage, but, ya'know) they might be two of the BEST jounin, but they ARE jounin. (unless you can show me a mention that they aren't... there isn't any other class for them) 2. this who topic has intrigued me, can anyone show me where in the manga it ACTUALLY says that a chunnin has been a ANBU? Don't get me wrong, I definately don't want to side with Fot, but I'm curious as to the instance of this. and, yes, I understand that Kakashi was an uber young ANBU, but couldn't he ALSO be a really young jounin? so, I guess I'm asking for scans showing either a direct reference to this, or scans showing both Kakashi's ANBU joining age AND jounin graduating age... pure curiosity, folks :EDIT: also, to compare pure power of a general ANBU member vs. specific characters is kinda pointless... just as there are fat, dumb cops who can't shoot, the title itself doesn't say anything about the persons skill. as you mentioned, Kabuto ran from Kakashi, but Kakashi WAS an ANBU. he didn't quit the ANBU team 'cause he got too good :P I think all we can speculate -generally- about ANBU is what rank they are accepted at. could a Gennin be an ANBU if they posess some sort of amazing tracking ability? |

I knew he used to be a member of the ANBU, but, not an 'ANBU trainer'. Where did you get this from? edit: zillford, I cant remember exactly wher it is, but there is a flashback with Sasuke remembering Itachi's development, where he says that he [Itachi] became a chuunin at 10 (chapter 145, page 9), and Kakashi has previously said that he became an ANBU captain at 13 (chapter 142, page 12). I'd say its a reasonable assumption that he never made jounin (being as he slaughtered the whole clan shortly after that). |
