Episode 10

This episode once again made me realize why I love this show so much. The misunderstandings are getting more creative with each passing episode.

I still don't like how Mitsuba gets the short end of the stick every time, but you can't deny that she brings it upon herself a lot of times, so I guess most of it is deserved. And it seems she has more people who care about her than she thinks.

Mitsuba's good at heart and has a conscience, unlike Hitoha that will leave you. Ahhh Tsundere's really. Hmmm...Thinking about it ep.10 is a Mitsuba episode, pretty much all story points to her.

I can't say I was expecting this, because by all accounts Mitdusomoe hasn't been that huge a hit in terms of ratings or DVD sales. Frankly I thought the humor was missing the mainstream audience - not moe enough for moe fans, not ecchi enough for hardcore ecchi fans, too avante garde for kids and too many kids for viewers who hate anime about kids. Yet, somehow, here we are - and what great news it is. For a series that's just hitting it's stride, stopping after 13 eps would have been a crying shame. And it looks like, unlike with Minami-ke, we're going to get the same studio and hopefully the same director.

Really, I'm all agog with joy - what a fantastic surprise. Nipples! Panties! Nympho!

Probably that's the reason why the author has designs of them as teens for later.

Also don't forget HENTAI!!! HENTAI!!! That was a blast.

Also the ongoing slapstick gags are great.

This is really an underrated series. I really like it in terms of misunderstandings and innocent jokes. Highly recommended for all ages.

Unlike here the jokes keeps getting better and better!
I love Mitsudomoe!
I agree wholeheartedly. After 2 episodes, I am thinking of dropping Mitsudomoe and hailing a certain zombie anime as the greatest series this season. Now my opinion is totally reversed.

Is it just me or do anyone find that most (actually not most, about 50%?) of mitsudomoe's joke is about "no bad deed goes unpunished"? That is why Mitsuba is always the butt of the jokes. I don't know anything about the mitsudomoe symbol but it looks like things go in circle - similar to the whole "what goes around comes around concept"

Glad your agree.

Also this is a kids anime aimed mostly for all audiences. This anime also teaches people most especially kids not to be bad as seen Mitsuba being the bad girl among the sisters always get punished later on and Futaba being innocent and honest is always rewarded and loved. Hitoha though is neutral she has her bad days and good days and at times she gets even.

Not too ecchi enough for the hardcore ecchi fans and not moe enough designs for moe fans? The jokes and story's moral lessons makes up for it. I highly recommend this anime to anyone.

2nd season? HELL YES.

Please don't change studios/directors like Minami-Ke did. Please.

Poor Mitsuba always getting the short end of the stick but boy was it funny. Another excellent episode.

Regarding Mitsuba being a bad girl, i don't quite agree. All 3 of the girls have their good and bad points. Mitsuba is sadistic and self centered but kind and actually quite magnanimous considering the things that happens to her. Futaba is innocent but can be cruel and destructive. Hitoha does the chores and nursing at home but easily misunderstand others and be misunderstood by others and thus isolated herself.

Futaba's only has her destructive nature she's not cruel like Mitsuba.
Probably since Mitsuba has her sadistic side which often a big turn off to many, but you cannot deny she cares and has a conscience too. It's just little girls growing up with different personalities.

All are fraternal twins btw....Where's there mom?!

Cruelty to animals, but not to humans.
Most kids experiment on animals and insects they find most of the time.

Eh? Are the kids in your neighbourhood spawns of hell or something?
A few kids experiment on some animals and insects they find sometimes seems to be a more accurate statement in my experience.

Mitsuba is superficially evil while having a heart of gold deep down. I actually think her being the most evil and yet kindest among the sisters (Am I contradicting myself?)

Most of Mitsuba's unfortunate result comes from her having a heart of gold. If she is truly evil she might not run in as many unfortunate incidents.

Futaba is more or less motivated by instincts thus she is the least on the receiving end of the jokes. I only recall one instance show her having a kind personality (the pencil case incident). I don't think her personality is developed.

That's the word.
And besides kids are kids they'll do some stupid and outrageous stuff every now and then and come crying back to their parents......

Ahh...youth.

Not really. That pretty much describes her.

Futaba is still a kid growing there will be time to develop her character more. She represents the energetic lush of children everywhere.

I agree that Mitsuba is basically kind under her obnoxious front. But I think there's plenty of evidence that Futaba is the kindest, despite the frog incident. She made Hitoha the shirt, she helped the lost little boy (in her way) etc. She's clueless, extremely odd and a force of nature but I don't see any maliciousness in her nature at all.

I think what's interesting is that we were shown the most grotesque elements of all the characters right away - Hitoha's ghoulishness, Mitsuba's vanity, Futaba's strange obsessions, Soujirou's sloppiness and menacing looks, etc. Ever since then, they've all been exposed layer by layer and we've seen they're basically decent people, just flawed. That's another example of how subtle and smart the writing has been with this show.
