Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?
Hmm... thighs look accurate. This is a good timeline with both Ryza and 2B animated in the same year.

Saw this part of the series hyped everywhere. No wonder they made an adapttion but a pretty bold move to announce it just 3 months ahead. Hope it is not a sign of yet another bad Aniplex planning.

Where's my Atelier Iris anime adaptation?

They're milking Ryza hard. And those focus shots on her thighs tells me they know who they're targeting.

Hmm....I haven't gotten a chance to get into Atelier series game so far. (So many games, and they all have AAA game price...). I watched Escha and Logy anime some years ago, that only thing I know about the series.

What does 'Ryza' do that make it standout and more popular than other Atelier titles?

Just THICK tights?

Apparently there are some...people of culture out there who got into the game solely for the thighs.

But in seriousness, this discussion thread on Reddit posited one possible reason for its popularity; radically overhauled gameplay changes and some nice coming of age vibes.

Popularity. Ryza has gotten THICC-er over the years, and is been one of the most collaborated (cross-overed) character/series for many games.

Think of it like Nier Automata, game is good because it refresh impression from past entries, but crowd going wild to 2B and Ryza.

Yeah, considering various crossover in gacha games, I guess it safe to say Persona 5, Atelier Ryza and Nier Automata are the Top 3 Crossover pick.

Some say say that Ryza's thicc thighs had breathed new life into a somewhat floundering series. My only complaint is that the translation quality has been relegated to basic serviceable quality since after Atelier Sophie. Atelier Ryza could have been stellar with a better translation.

The reason of character deign of Ryza's thighs is not explained, other than voice actors commenting that Ryza has healthy thighs.

In contrast, the explanation is given in SSSS. Gridman. The producer thought the original design of Rikka's thighs are too thin, because it does not reflect the image of real life JK. Meanwhile, it is said that real life JK wearing long socks and short skirts, to make their legs look slender overall.

Well, those thighs certainly are thick. Not really my thing, but I'm interested to see what the story will do (haven't played the game or anything).

LOVELY THICK THIGHS! memorable thickness. I played the other games but I only remember SOL kawaiiness but this made me remember thickness.

I didn't expect or know that this one got an anime adaptation.

Given there are 3 games in the Ryza series (and 3rd game is the last) I wonder if we might ever get anime adaptations of Games 2-3, assuming Game 1's anime is accepted well (and not overlooked like Legends of Mana).
