Steins;Gate - Game Thread

I'm curious why no one's started a thread on this, but I guess I'll begin here.

http://steinsgate.jp/

The game was released by 5pb and Nitro+ on Oct. 15, 2009 of this year, and takes place within the same world as CHAOS;HEAD after the Shibuya incident.

My synopsis:
Quote:
The game’s premise revolves around a man named Okabe Rintarou, who goes to a meeting regarding time travel. While he’s wandering around, he finds that 18-year old Makise Kurisu has been murdered. After leaving the building in a hurry, he decides to send a cellphone mail regarding the murder. However, the moment the mail is sent, the world changes, and Rintarou feels as if something had changed at that moment. The people around him have disappeared, and when he looks up at the top of the building he’s just left, he finds a satellite has crashed into the rooftop.

Only hours later does he bump into Makise Kurisu, who was supposed to have been killed…
I've already cleared the game, and have summaries available for people to read (warning, spoiler alert!):

My review of Steins;Gate (relatively spoiler-free, I think? It should be):

OoOoOoO a discussion about a X360 game? Too bad for the the region lock(wondering why do lock games where they have no intention of releasing it outside of Japan) and the lack of english.

Suprised a VN actually got released on the 360. The sales seems similar to Chaos;Head Noah. It'll get proper fame when it gets ported to the PC. :O

Fingers crossed for a PC port. I'm only hearing praises about S;G (it's been on the top of EGS for quite a while actually), despite that the writer's other games were rather lacklustre IMO.
Such a shame that Nitroplus is also involved with it, so the chances of a fantranslation is abysmal. Additionally since 5pb is also involved (and those guys notoriously disliked foreigners in the past during the C;H translation), it's unlikely that an official translation ever going to happen. Real shame.

If you guys have a 360 and want to play through the demo, you can still use my summaries to play it... though you should only read as far as chapter 1.

Also, I'd be very willing to work on a fan translation myself, if it's even possible in the future...

To be honest I think there's only a handful of people that have a japanese XBOX360 and can't speak Japanese. Till a PC version is announced, I wouldn't bother working on it.

If it's possible to at least translate the scripts, I'd still do it anyway.

Besides, if a PC port is announced in the future after the fact, it'd only make the job much quicker.

I just finished watching the demo (all 34 sections of it on youtube) and it looks great. The artwork is refreshing and the characters aren't as cliche ridden. My fingers are also crossed for a PC port.

Artwork is very catching (nice coloring style)
Your synopsis got me interested. I will also be hoping for a PC port.

Also Kanako Itou doing the opening is always a plus.

EDIT: Seiyu list is impressive

(by order of appearance on the website)

Miyano Mamoru - Okabe Rintarou
Imai Asami - Makise Kurisu
Hanazawa Kana - Shiina Mayuri
Tamura Yukari - Amane Suzuha
Kobayashi Yuu - Urushibara Ruka (opening romanizes it as "Luka")
Momoi Halko - Feiris NyanNyan (opening romanizes it Faris)
Seki Tomokazu - Hashida Itaru
Gotou Saori - Kiryuu Moeka
Terasoma Masaki - Tennouji Yuugo
(cant find the seiyu name, cause the kanji has no furigana) - Tennouji Nae

EDIT2: *facepalm* no wonder the art looks so familar! It's huke of the BlackRock Shooter fame.

I still fail to comprehend why Nitro+ would release it on a Xbox 360. Who the hell owns a Xbox 360 in Japan anyways, entirely kidd. I ordered this a while ago, and yes it came a while ago too but I didn't quite have the time to play it.

Hn ? Why ? o.o;
Anyway, I read your summary a little and I found out that the story is indeed complex and sounds intresting...at least from what I've read. Does it involve with some parallel universe, time machine or things like that ? Is it sci-fi ?

Hm...I think I need to find some place to download the song >.<

Came across some very amusing fan-made 4komas for Steins;Gate:

From what I recall, the 5pb staff had said the game is "99% science fiction" and "1% fantasy".

Feels a bit like necroing a thread, but thought I might give an update.

Steins;Gate will be having three drama CDs, they are:
Also, the Steins;Gate Official Materials will be out on 2/26/2010 for 2415 yen, also available at Amazon.co.jp.

Thinking of summarizing the drama CDs on my site, too.

I'm assuming mana__tsurugi isn't the username of someone credible. Real source or it's not true.

And that link leads to a page does not exist

mana__tsurugi is actually the twitter account of the president of Lass, the creator of 11eyes.

Anyways, as the Techgian was not on sale yet, he pulled the twitter. Original quote:

I shall wait for an official site announcement. The only way to avoid disappointment is to not have any expectations in the first place (-_-)-b

Well, as far as I can tell, those all cite the tech gain magazine as their source... but since they cited a date, you can deduce that it's not a simple rumor (as there were before). Woo hoo ^_^
