Anime with studious main lead

This may sound weird. haha.
Any anime recommendations with a studious/hardworking main lead?
Im preparing for exams and i guess im lacking the drive.
LOL I probably need such an anime to spur me up! :X
I'd be good if its with humour too.
Something like Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou or Kaichou wa maid-sama
Doesn't have to be shojo.
Any genre is fine (:

Interesting request indeed.

I'm so very tempted to say GTO. Yes, I'm serious, if you actually somehow haven't watched that. If you already did, you can give Ouran High School Host Club and Kobato. a try, considering the ones you mentioned.

The male half of the main couple in Noein is under tremendous pressure to study for exams. You'd probably be more diligent if you had Yuu's mother to deal with.

Exams and, more often, competitions appear throughout Nodame Cantabile and its sequels. At the beginning the students are preparing for their performance exams; later on, they're preparing for competitions.

Death Note is a pretty obvious pick. Yagami Light is the ultimate honor student.

I recommend Summer Wars. The main lead is a maths genius.

One reason I didn't recommend this is because we don't actually see him studying or suffering from exam worries.

For a hardworking lead try Hataraki Man. It's not about studying, but Hiro is ambitious and puts enormous amount of effort into her work.

This is relevant to my interests as well. Over Drive and Kare Kano definitely fit the bill.

Karekano is actually already in the OP's post :P

Love hina?

The main lead made a promise to go to university when e was 6, the entire show is about him finding the girl he made his promise to and getting to university. The ups and downs of him being dumb and how he has to study hard are explored very well.

The nearest show to Kare Kano is Special A I think, it isn't as good as Kare Kano but still worth a try

Maybe it's a bit of a stretch since it isn't about exams (though one character does have the best grades in class) but Bakuman airing right now?

The 2 main leads are very very hardworking.
