Excellent Madoka/Evangelion crossover fanart. Partly for the concept, but DEFINITELY the more realistic/detailed redesigned on their faces.

That's definitely a well-done image. Madoka looks pretty cool there (as does all five, but Madoka is the one who really gets a "cool" upgrade here). Sayaka makes me think of Rei there.

And Homura is simply smoking in that pic. She truly looks awesome here.

As far as I can tell, the fandom just kinda randomly decided that Homura wants to get Madoka's underwear.

I guess it's based on how Homura can come across as a bit stalker-ish towards Madoka in the anime, maybe suggesting some sort of perversion there, lol.

Honestly, this joke/meme has grown a bit old and tired for me (especially since it was based on so little to begin with - It's not like the headless Mami meme that's pretty strongly rooted in canon). I'm fine with it in joke fan-images, but I hate it in pictures like the one you just put up. It's just so horribly out of place in more serious fan-images like that one. It really can take away from the overall feel of some PMMM group shots, imo.

In some versions: Madoka's panties have sort of become Homu Homu's source of power. Faith based on Madoka. Homu Homu gets strength from the warmth (and/or smell) of her godess. It drives away any sorrows or dispair, thus making Homu Homu the greatest of Magical Girls, as she can never fall to dispair (cause the thought of death brings her to Madoka, which fills her with hope to be reunited...thus driving away the dispair).

The levels of pervertedness vary depending on who tells the tale.
