There are lots of ways ... but you don't tell us which software you are using to watch the videos .

I'm going to guess at Microsoft's Windows Media Player... in which case you might want to try pressing [CTRL]+[I]. You'll find that doing so will make a "Save Captured Image..." window pop up. Name the file however you want, select the type (JPG or BMP) and then press the "Save" button.

Someone else can suggest other methods, for other software...

Right thanx! I have a few video-playing programs, like WMP, BSplayer, DivX player so I was looking for methods using any of the programs

Thanks again!.

WMP - Turn off hardware acceleration and press "Print Screen" (And in case you don't know .. paste into a paint program ), or do what NightWish said.. which is new to me. I'll have to try that out, thanks for the tip.

BSplayer is quite simple. Pause, right click Capture Screen>"What you see"

DivX .. I'm not sure about this one. I don't think it's possible to take a screenshot from it. I don't even use this anymore.. it takes up too much resources and takes a while to load. BSplayer is much simplier.. and in turn better.

Why don't people just use the fddshow frame grabber?

That doesn't work for me...I tried it with WMP9 and Media Player Classic...

Actually, you don't even have to do that. Just click "P" while watching the video.
