Ouch. Let’s just say it’s really clear why Sally Amaki is the only one of the girls who’s getting other roles. And then they casted Kenta Miyake and Aya Hisakawa in the supporting roles, thus going for the kill.

Watched episode 1:

Very glad to see Sally, Ayaka, Jun, Miyako, and Reiko all turned into anime! --- I'm almost in tears of joy. Although the other three members don't really appeal to me.

so they have some sort of magical wall? interesting..

mehh.. so the most depressing girll among all of them takes center, and I could not question wtf The Wall.

Why can't Reika or Sally be allowed to take center to make this thing at least believable?

The bad voice acting is strangely addictive.
But I can't focus on the story.
The quality of the animation itself is good though...

they're amateurs. so can't do anything about that.
it's actually a refreshing change for me, since well other anime mostly have professional va's. Nice to see some new blood in the industry.

the only thing that could not understand is why they put a sad panda character into the center. Have been following them for years on youtube, and Reika would have done a much better job. Will still follow the anime out of my loyalty to the group, but I hope Miu drama won't be the story 90% the time.

This is a dorama in anime clothing, up to the voice acting.

I hope they get multiple seasons for this, that was really fun about majisuka gakuen.

Watched episode 3:

Jun put a stuffed toy in front of the wall. Easier to take orders from something cute.

only thing I didn't like is why director decided to put Miu sad panda monologue while the song is playing? Made the song difficult to listen to.

Also Miu almost wrecked their first concert, but also she is the one who saved it. Hmm, interesting.

Being a fairly sentimental person, I love this show. Yes, a bit of a dorama: as far as I'm concerned, if every episode brings tears to my eyes, I'm hooked. And I am. Three eps and counting.

Most of you probably already know this, but the show is produced by Akimoto Yasushi, the producer who created the idol groups AKB48, Nogizaka46, Keyakizaka46, Hinatazaka46, etc. So Aki-P = Golden Wall, lol. He's known as one of the wealthiest men in Japanese show business.

Myu is slightly based on Hirate Yurina, the fixed centre of Keyakizaka46,who recently left the group, probably to go solo. She was the youngest member when the group formed, with no experience at all, and it was a shock when she was made centre. And she is by far the most popular member, but still has wrecked a few concerts over the past couple of years, for reasons of injury and/or emotional uncertainty. They've made Myu's appearance a bit like Hirate's.

I'm enjoying much of the voice acting, even though some of it is laughably awkward. "Real girls" is the impression.

I had no idea that the group existed before the anime. Here are the real girls doing the OP (without Autotune, lol):

the drama felt a bit forced. But I don't mind, because it's a Sally episode.

nice photoshoot in the rain. Wet look.

Watched episode 5:

somehow, I liked this episode more than the Sally drama on episode 4. Miyako family situation does not feel forced.. or maybe I just favor characters who are poor and trying to survive. ><

Glad Miyako's mom gave some financial support.

Oh, the first episode looks so misterious and Miu with great potential, the last two give a bit a pause i hope it doesn´t too much time but the girls here act surprisingly intelligent in their drama.
