Yes, mostly in the cases where actual facilities or resources aren't available for proper weapons production.

Hell, the Gundam Ex-8 was basically repaired with slapped together spare parts from APCs and Tanks, so...yeah it's possible.

Just rememebr a CIWS is a 20mm Vulcan gun. It's NOT a small weapon system.

Has anyone ever -seriously- covered the one major flaw of the IS (Besides only being piloted by women)?

Basically, that no matter how advanced the IS is, it's still limited by the "Spam in a Can" problem--it's still a soft human beign with a brain that can't process as fast as the info comes. I know a lot of people have done cyborgs and the like, but nothing seriously covering it from a technological, much less Transhuman point of view. I mean, that might even be a plot point for Laura--her nanomachines allow her better use of the IS, but it doesn't improve on what she already has as a super-soldier...

Ah, I have that with My version of Cecilia's 2nd shift. Blue Tears Glas Hart.

The one off ability I call Nineveh's wisdom. It links Cecilia's brain with the IS core's processor as well as a separate system. This allows Cecilia to control all her bits as if it were a part of her body as well as push her calculation and comprehension ability beyond even superhuman standards granting foresight almost approaching clairvoyance. Basically her brain processes become better than even Tabane's in that time frame. However seeing things in that light cause some form of feeling of omnipotence. Overuse of Nineveh's wisdom causes an addiction and in some cases, a backlash noted mostly by depression and loss of self-esteem.

There was also "Night" a one off ability for Cecilia I suggested to zero but I don't know if he uses it

Noted. Thing is, since I'm revamping the Minerva, I figured it should no longer go through core evolution.

Instead, it sticks to it's own route and gets something like this for an overhaul. (Only much more stable without a timer)

Talking politics. If a country loses their IS, as in they all got destroyed, how badly would that affect them based on what we know from canon?

At worst case scenario:
That country cease to exist (being run down/conquered by other country)

It is that bad.

which is why when their core get stolen, most nation choose to keep their mouth shut.

Did you guys forget that there are still contemporary army's? The IS doesn't replace the army, you know.

Ah, I'm staying out of this discussion. I dislike politics and need to focus on fic writing.

I don't doubt that the loss of military strength would be filled, but in no way would it match the IS.

Also, I meant IS loss resultant of complete destruction core and all.

watched the series, very touching if we were to discuss the anime. But if we're just talking about the tech then it's pretty much posterboy for real robot.

The design is far advanced compared to what we may possibly have but it's close to a practical military design. However it may not be wise to use said design path because that unit was made for the ground with minor in leaping. Minerva would probably be flying at mach speeds so a more aerodynamic design works better. Same goes for the weapons, you might go too fast and rip those things from the mounts.
