Thanks a lot to BloodyKitty for the translated info for Preliminary performances.
I'm very pleased, and a bit pleasantly surprised, to see my girl Sayaka do the best of all the Puella Magi. Cheering Sayaka on might not be as fun this year without Coldlight around, though. Kotori being the top LL! girl would be surprising to me except I recently saw her be the top LL! girl in a recent poll for "top anime idols", coming in behind only two IdolMaster girls. Between Kotori's showing there, and now her performance in J-SaiMoe 2014, I have to think she's legitimately one of the most popular LL! girls in Japan, if not the most popular LL! girl. Mikoto Misaka's strong performance isn't that surprising as she's been a major player in most moe competitions for quite some time. I am pretty startled by Saki's resurgence, and Mori Summer doing so well though. Combine all of the above with even Rozen Maiden placing two in the Top 12, and it looks like the old-timers might have a thing or two to say about the newcomers taking over.

Another possibility, though a smaller one I think, is that Kirakishou might not have won over many Zurückspulen viewers. She did have a couple good moments in the 2nd half of the show, but on the whole I didn't think she had as much impact as Suigintou did when Suigintou was in an antagonist role.

Last round and I'm 7-3-0 (I need to count up my records on the veteran groups...). Nodocchi winning is expected. I'm a little bit surprised, to say, that Elsie and Haqua did this good, considering the rest of Kaminomi crew were not going anywhere... On the flip side, Yoshino, at least on paper, looks to be the strongest DAL girls with Kurumi and Kotori just able to qualify. On the flip side, though, Group E7 is weak... Then there's also Lyfa, who qualified, while Asuna has to go through 2nd prelim. Who would have thought LOL... One last note, Satoha somehow did this good when she barely appeared in the anime and is a meganekko... Quote:

The order of votes for MadoMagi girls: Sayaka > Mami > Homura > Madoka > Kyouko > Nagisa. Not surprising to me as I always thought the Rebellion movie put Sayaka in the best light, Mami is second. There are a lot of mixed reactions to Homura's downfall to Homucifer, so I wonder how that will affect her in Saimoe this round. Madoka already won last year, also her and Kyouko didn't have as much role as others in the last movie, and Nagisa is just a side-character for now, so it's understandable where the're standing this year. Expect Saki to have a better comeback to having last year's unfair exit of Nodoka.
