WOW, the anime is going with everything, nothing relevant has been censored, so that's the power of noitamina?

anyway, this episode perfectly summed up the yakuza arc, I think was used more than 5 chapters in that.

and about the CG in fights, I think they do this to try to respect the essence of the manga, Inuyashiki has many scenes that looks something done by computer rather than a human artist.

I just compared this episode to the manga chapters it covered (18 to 27, which amounts to more than an entire volume), and very little was cut or changed. They just really condensed the bit with Samejima stalking Fumino before having her kidnapped. That's the kind of pace I assume the show will keep from now on, since it's got almost 7 whole volumes to cover in just 7 episodes. I suppose the nudity might become more graphic in the Blu-ray version, but I was surprised by how much they didn't censor, especially that unpleasant sauna scene.

what struck me most were the drugs were not censored, since this was always the biggest taboo of all.

Man, that was such a thrilling episode this week. The kidnapping, escape, fighting against those guys...

Old man Inuyashiki is getting more and more badass each week.

It does seem like his body is equipped with some kind of auto-pilot mode and he switches to it when the big lens appears on his forehead or the back of his head. Either way, he seems conscious of his actions even when he's in that mode, as indicated by his lack of surprise after the deed was done and his speech afterward. There is no doubt he was the one who wished for this punishment to be dealt out.

I'm surprised to see such a 'mature' anime on a major streaming service in late 2017. Maybe this is a turning point where we get more mature titles instead of fluffy rom-coms?

Jobs says, "God, why have you done this to me. All my life, I worshipped you, yet you destroyed my livestock, you blighted my crops, you killed my wife and children, you gave me a hundred horrible diseases, all because you had a bet going on with the devil?

Well okay... all your humble servant wants to know, why me?"

God replies: "Job, I guess there is something about you that pisses me off."
When the guy asks Inuyashiki, why this is happening to him when he has done good all of his life, I just couldn't help but recall the above quote from Stephen King's book Storm of the Century. Very good episode.

Except the answer in this case should be: "Oh I dunno maybe because YOU FUCKING KIDNAP, DRUG, RAPE AND OCCASIONALLY KILL WITH OVERDOSE RANDOM WOMEN. GET A DAMN CLUE."

Monir was referring to the girl's boyfriend.

I think not, we currently live in a fairly politically correct society, many people are complaining about the violence of the series, although it is true that the number of more violent or more mature animes have recently increased.

TBF it's the answer Inuyashiki should have said that to the Yakuza dude when he asked why a old man was attacking them.

This story felt a bit like filler at first, but the ending made me understand just how important it was. It painted Inuyashiki in a different, darker light. He went from friendly neighborhood hero to dangerous vigilante. What he did to those men was far worse than killing them. I didn't think he had it in him to do such things.
I'm not 100% sure what Inuyashiki did but from what I could gather the only (long-term) damage that he did was blind them and I wouldn't necessarily call that a fate worse than death. His vigilante-ism certainly straddled the line of moral ambiguity but I don't think he quite broke past it. I mean if it's a choice between letting an innocent couple meet a horrible fate (death and slavery) or blinding a hundred-odd yakuza then I'd probably pick the latter too. Maybe there were other options but without the show exploring them then we're in a difficult position to make judgements. Inuyashiki could have gone to the police but maybe time was of the essence in this? Maybe he could have only targeted that once yakuza guy and his thugs instead of everyone there but maybe that would've put his family at risk if he didn't go all the way? It's hard to say either way.

That said, I do think it was enlightening and worrying to see how far Inuyashiki would be willing to go. What I hope is that this doesn't send him down a slippery slope to villainy because he's pretty much the only major face of the kind side of humanity in this bleak world setting.

He blinded and paralysed them. Not sure if from the waist down or entirely. Being completely paralysed and blind does sound like not that far removed from death to me .

If he did not do that to the Yakuza, his own family would be killed like the Yakuza boss said. The only way for Inuyashiki to deal with that type of monsters is being a monster himself. Standard laws would be irrelevant while dealing with the mafia unless you are prepared to deal with the consequences. Either way, there is a clear difference between Inuyashiki's actions against humans compared to the "Bang" guy for example.

Anyway, i'm really happy to see alternative anime like this one being produced. I needed to see different characters from the usual kids with powers and harems for a change. Mappa is being amazing in that department by animating such stories. Regarding this title, since it was created by the same author as Gantz, i knew it would be amazing but i fear it will suffer from the same issues Gantz had... an horrible finale/last arc xD

Spoiler for Inuyashiki ending opinion (not actual plot):
