The school in question is Hida Public High School.

It's sort of halfway between "I'm curious!" and "I'm concerned!"
The subs I watched went with "I can't stop thinking about it!"

Just watched episode 2 of this. I liked Guardian Enzo's Seinfeld comparison, except that I even chuckled a few times during this episode, so the comparison probably works even better for me than it does Enzo himself.

There's something about Eru's ability to be deathly serious/determined over the most mundane of things that's actually rather comical to me. Oreki plays a good straight-man to that element of her character, while Satoshi and Mayaka nicely round out the cast with them both being basically normal yet-slightly quirky. To go back to Seinfeld, they're basically the George and Elaine of this show right now, imo.

Hyouka really does have that easy viewing, comfort food comedy feel to it.

I don't think it's fantastic or anything that grand, but it actually feels like pure slice of life to me - Just generally pleasant, mildly amusing, and a relaxing viewing experience. This sort of material can turn boring fast if not handled well, imo, but so far it's being handled well-enough at least.

As for the debate over how Oreki treated Eru at the coffee shop, I think it was pretty clear that he was simply trying to get Eru to spit it out already. Even now, he knows her well enough to know that she's not one to just let him run off when there's something she's dying to ask him or tell him to do.

Talking

I'm pondering "Life with Eru" from Houtarou's perspective...

"Oreki, Oreki! Help me throw out the trash. *staressss*"

"Oreki, Oreki! Let's go shopping for shoes! *staressss*"

Dude's going to be a drained battery.

Hehe.

Didn't read the premise of this anime. However I watched 2 available episodes and am still pondering if it will be good or just one of many titles which you watch and then forget about them.
What's keeping me watching is the usual KyoAni art quality.
Story is at best mediocre, typical daily life stuff with nothing behind it. (thats why I watched few eps of K-on and then gave up because it was just boring)

Maybe its me but the sparkling eyes scene just piss me off, some people may love it, but for me they are just Ughhhhh.

Still will try 2-3 more eps and see if it have more than just art, and the daily life mysteries.

Ohhh would forget, the only good point about characters, is the main hero being Kyon-alike, which is a ++ for him.

I know Mayaka has been friends with MC since elementary via profile. Thing is, MC said that he only met Satoshi in middle school, thus logically Satoshi and Mayaka has only known each other since.

To be honest, I personally have the same feelings towards middle school friends, but Japan AFAIK don't consider middle school friends as osananajimi. Probably the closest one is Kaoru from Amagami being tagged as childhood friend by the english wiki, but I haven't heard Kaoru being called one within the series proper, so it doesn't count.

They usually consider childhood friend as anyone during kindergarten/elementary school. From middle school to onwards, nope.

Mhm. The Slice of Life genre is by far my least favourite genre.. but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the second episode.

Eri's eyes are such a dazzling hue of purple. :>

There is something about Kyoani's arts and animation that keeps you watching it.

That said, Eru reminds me of...

Spoiler for a character:

With that, we can compare her curiouness of mysteries with...

Spoiler for :

And so, when Eru though, "If its Houtarou, maybe he will be able to... to... to...

Spoiler for another anime:

For me it has to be Eru eyes. It was a fine episode, a little bit boring but was still good to watch. But Eru stare are just plain dangerous.

The main dude is cool.
The flower tentacle mind rape thing was... interesting.
The shiny eye business is kind of overused and uninteresting.
