Well, there is that forbidden technique that will absolutely trap the demon lord that he most likely learned from the war goddess. As stated that his soul goes back to earth after he dies, then it's most likely he will try this technique to defeat the demon lord, save the planet, and die afterwards, only to go back home.
It's also probably why he left all his companions, so they stay out of danger and to keep them from preventing him from using the technique.

overal the episode was good, but again they rushed a lot specially the battle, for what i can say without any doubts the battles are not really the strong point of this series, even if indeed overal the battles in the novel where short too, the anime is making then even more short, like when the king one shot the last general.
here some difference from the novel in some info they skipped: Spoiler for source material comparison:
now for the next episode a little spoiler but not that much: Spoiler for :
if this series is somehow is a 11 then everything will happen in the next episode which based on how they rushed a lot it's totally possible to have everything in the next episode without really look "too rushed" since things will be really fast now.

also they cut the part where he before dying start to write for his future self that message", we get the explanation for the "properties", also why he don't wanted to take damage because he don't wanted to "relly on her" as hi did in the past, his big change in personality was exactly because on that moment when he found out which he lost not only friends but his love and possible future children, then he take everything rista( the princess told) which him, she was in big part of the reason he had that 180 degrees of change. this also explain all the jokes about she acting as his wife and want to have sex with him, because they somehow already on that. And basically she ended summoning her husband back, with the final episode coming friday, would be good go back all previous episodes which would help you understand a lot of things or which a lot of hints anyone could had missed you will now notice and understand. i really loved on how the writer in this series could put a lot of hints in a smarth way where even jokes could have means. to be clear as the leader god told while overal they dont have full memories of they past lifes, they do have "glimpses" of that past which make them behavious in the way they act. the big plot twist for me was really the revealing of the rista being also a reincarnation and the hint was the sword god guy and why the other goddess(the one which failed with seiya) was so protective and friendly with rista. Another info which maybe can be helpfull for some peoples which could be confuse with timeline. when the goddess talked about "100" years, she wanted to means in the gods realm time, which is different from mortal world time, while for the gods it was 100 years for the mortal world it was just one year, seiya don't have 100+ years, for him his defeat happened one year ago.

Ristarte getting into an argument with that clerk over those revealing swimsuits only to then end up buying them once her perversion for Seiya won out was pretty hilarious. She's one perverted Goddess .
The truth about Seiya is finally revealed, and we get to see the "real" Seiya, the one who cares about his friends and even Rista (especially on a sub-conscious level), and is super-cautious because of how much throwing caution to the wind cost him in the end. And boy did it cost him . Props to Yuichiro Umehara's voice for "Gonna Be Okay" Seiya and how he subtly changed his voice for this younger, brasher, and more warm version of the character . Aria actually looked pretty good with long hair! Although I imagine she cut it after what happened in solemn remembrance of her perceived failure . So what happened to that world after Aria failed and Seiya died? Did the Demon Lord completely ravage the world, or did another Goddess or God take over and finish the job ? I thought Aki Toyosaki voicing Tiana was just an allusion to her playing a similar role Ristarte did to the old Seiya, but then it turns out Ristarte is Tiana who became a Goddess thanks to Aria's prayer. And as comedic as they've played up Seiya and Rista's relationship, it turns out Ristarte is really the reincarnation of Seiya's lover and the mother of his unborn child. Even the joke of her picking out his name because it was different from the average Japanese names was really because she sub-consciously picked out the name of the man she loved. Definitely was not expecting that . Also the irony that Ristarte's past self was the main voice of caution towards the more gung-ho Seiya, which only really kicked in with his second life, and then also proceeded to become a massive headache for Ristarte in her current life. Talk about irony . Now it's time for the finale with the fight against the Demon Lord, with Seiya off to sacrifice himself and Ristarte and company off to save him. I am definitely Ready Perfectly to watch how the series finally concludes .

Oh this show always had darkness to it. After all Seya pretty much DESTROYS a village in episode 2, Mash is tortured for days till he just wants to die, protector dragons want to sacrifice little girls in hope they can defeat the Demon Lord and aren't over using children to drug the heroes. Etc. etc.
It was just covered up by focusing on Ristartes ZAAANY ANTICS to Seya's things. And certain lack of engagement because they could hop back to the Divine realm at any time. So we didn't really expirience much the reality that most of the world has been destroyed slaughtered already and like. But yes, still, this later part of episode is quite a mood whiplash compared to the start. This probably works as separate chapters, but as an episode...

A great episode that really ties it all together.
Of course Seiya would end up like that. He was a capable hero with talent and a flare for the dramatic. He defeated enemies with barely anything left because always had to rise to the occasion. Which works fine of course when things are normal. If the enemy only has one life then they'll go down and you can recover later. But in this case his lack of prep was devastating. He had just enough to beat his enemy once and nothing left after. That was game over. Even just knowing that would have made it clear they couldn't fight the last boss yet or at least alert them to the need to retreat when they saw how close a fight it was. A total disaster of a result. Even without remembering all that, what he saw was enough. It shaped everything and allowed them to survive this long. Of course you can say he perhaps went too far to the other extreme from his old self. Letting Mash and Elulu grow as fighters would be risky, but it could be the difference. He's reached his max and he is without a doubt insanely more powerful than he ever was in his first time as a hero. Relying too much on his comrades and not preparing himself was dangerous. But it could still lead to his defeat if he relies only on himself, is incredibly cautious and doesn't let his allies anywhere near his fight. If he can find balance between his present and past self then that might be the key to winning. At the very least he's totally maxed his skills so...the only way to gain a further edge is relying on others. But yeah, that's a messed up past. No wonder Seiya instinctively dislikes Rosalie with a passion. The amount of self-loathing that must be ingrained in him even if he doesn't remember those events must be staggering. But yeah, a lot makes sense when looking at it through this. He was probably more powerful by the end of episode 1 than he was at any point in his journey. The first Heavenly King was almost certainly far more powerful than the Demon Lord he fell to originally. At least the truth is out there. Now to make sure Seiya doesn't die. As a bonus Ristarte is also setting herself to get punished in a way that will almost certainly let her end up with Seiya in the end .
