This has been in my list of series to read for years. I guess at this point I'll watch the anime first.

Surprised this is getting an anime, the LN ended some time ago. I'll enjoy watching it. The characters look really, really different from the manga and LN though.

So we've got a medieval fantasy series (with a reincarnation twist) plus an all-star cast...well, I might want to check it out depending on what I see/hear .

But didn't Minami Takahashi just go on hiatus? Did she already record for this or does she think she'll be back in time to record ?

Surprised they didn't do this sooner.
I have to ask why now when the interest in the new game+ genre is fading.

Yeah, the characters do look a lot different don't they?

This came out rather early into the more recent "Redo my past" story genre phase. We still have those stories now, just not as many. Look forward to seeing it even if it got kinda convoluted later. Probably won't get to those parts anyway.

EDIT:

Correction - I meant there aren't as many "Redo my past" stories as back then in the shounen demographic. There are still a lot in shoujo stories now - especially in the "I lost my fiance, got falsely accused and then got executed" kind.

Holy cow, that visual looks starkly different than the manga. It looks kinda.....generic, i suppose. While manga art is more grim and gritty

My first impression when reading the title is good news but looking at the illustration, I was wtf? who are they? totally different genre animation visuals.

The swordsman friend of the MC getting a lot more screentime than the heroines killed the manga for me.

The anime adaptation for this is using totally new character designs by Nilitsu, illustrator for the LN series The Executioner & Her Way of Life/Shokei Shoujo no Virgin Road.

The anime has chosen not to follow the source LN illustration and designs by Fuse Ryuuta (which the current manga art is using).

Basically a time regression + redo series. MC goes back in time with knowledge of a dark and terrible future, and joins up with his companions to change said future from happening by identifying and preventing various events that made their side weaker/the enemy side stronger. Along the way he's also trying to uncover why the past went so bad and who was really responsible, while having to deal with" the more he changes things the less he can predict the future per his past timeline experiences".

Well that explains why the picture makes it look like the characters live in a legendary fantasy ethereal world.

That's too bad. The summary had me intrigued to check this one out.

All we can do though is wait to hear about an updated release season.
