If we had to choose one, would Rock Lee and Sasuke be appropriate rivals like Kakashi and Gai with sharingan and Taijutsu or would it be more appropriate for Sasuke and Naruto as Naruto likes to announce.

im thinkin that until Lee learns some more techniques he isnt a worthy rival.........but if learns how to use his chakra then he could be....maybe

Well all these rivalries really come down to talent vs no talent. Kakashi didn't always have his sharingan, he's been an excellent ninja ever since he was a kid. Look at Jiraya and Oro ... we could consider them rivals also. Lee rivals Neji cause he just happend to be the closest genius there. I think it's more like. If there is a looser and a genius in a team, the loser will declare the genius as a rival to prove a point. Usually the talented side doesn't even care. That's ofcouse until the looser somehow surpasses him

I think that Naruto ans Sasuke are closer rivals, because Lee can only use tai-jutsu. Furthermore, Sasuke is a fast as Lee is, taking away Lee's advantage.

Currently i think they made good rivals in the show, Lee Vs. Neji(Both Taijutsu Specialists, One a complete Genius and the other a complete Loser), Sakura Vs Ino(Both Annoying, and Damn Weak

Sasuke Vs Naruto is also a good one, because they are the complete oposite, so i think Naruto is more apropriate as Sasuke rival currently, however when they grow up if Naruto learns to control and release more of the Kyubi chakra i don't think anyone will be rival with him

Indeed, Sethi-san.
The only team who seems to get out pretty well is Asuma's. Ino, Shika and Choji get along pretty well, just like their fathers. Kiba and Shino, not too much, since it was stated that Kiba hates when Shino tries to act like the boss. Though I wouldn't consider them "rivals".

ya, thats true.. though i think Shino would kick Kiba's ass :P ... I think Shino n Shikamaru would make good rivals IMO.

i think as far as planning ahead goes in a battle.....Shino and Shika are good rivals. Both seem to be masters of planning ahead. In fact it would be cool to know how Shino's IQ compares to Shika's

Agree with Shika being the only true smart-ass, but Shino is intelligent, and he's got his bugs, which gives him more options during a fight... Shino vs Shikamaru would be a fun, everlasting matchup

Shino woul have no chance against Shika, he would do Shadow Copy no Jutsu to the bugs and that was it

Can you imagine all the bugs going against Shino, he would be like "What the hell is this"

Ahh, but does the Shadow bind work on all the bugs? They can still attack him after he has caught Shino, he can still talk, if he even has to in order to give his bugs commands..

In a friendly match, shino would win easily. Shika would just say this is too troublesome and quit. However, if there was a civil war in konoha and they found themselves matched up on the battlefield,

Yeah, he'd be practicing half a year for that jutsu... Too bad only Orochimaru knows it, though, and we're not too good friends with him, are we?

Sasuke/Naruto being enemies until Naruto turns Sasuke back to the good side as he did with Zabuza and will probably do so for Garaa too but thats just my kinda speculation.

Anyone think that Sasuke might just die in the current manga saga? It's rare to have such an important main character die but not unheard of in the anime world.

I HOPE he dies, but I doubt he will. He's too hated to die. They'll kill off everyone's favorite characters, leaving the useless and the hated... Sakura and Sasuke...

Naruto and Sasuke will be rivals just like Jiraiya and Oro.

It's only inevitable that Oro will train Sasuke and teach him how to summon snakes.
