cyclic redundancy check

I was copying some AVI files out of a DVDR on to a HD and got a cyclic redundancy check error. The particular file would stop tranferring at that point and no part of it would be copied to the HD.

I understand that the file is corrupt somewhere, but my question is does anyone know how to copy the file to the HD ignoring the erroneous sector?

the only way to fix it is to find another copy of the file. if it excludes the corrupted section then the crc will still be wrong. sorry but that file is gone.
