Because Bandai got the license to do it. Already had test shots of AGP Kongou and Haruna at the last Wonfes.

I feel sorry for everyone buying them then.
Saw a few youtube reviews of Yamato and the most memorable about of it was:

*finger point at spot* 180 USD - Quality control.

The AGP line as a whole has somewhat underwhelmed me so far.

The sad thing about AGP is that Bandai spent so much effort on the "Armor" part but not a lot on the "Girl" part.

From what I gathered from the video the problem is quality control in general.
The Armor part looked good at first but he found stuff there too.

The most notable he found was a freaking fingerprint on the armor.

I think this is old news for you, but for the benefit of others this is a problem very common to AGP as a whole (the reverse is apparent for figma actually).

And now, Shigure have blown a hole in my wallet. I have until September to...cough up something.

2nd volume of the anime with Kongou!

http://kancolle-anime.jp/goods/?page=bd2

Looks like each volume will have a Weiss Schwarz promo with the cover picture.
If so, I hope one of the volumes will feature Zuikaku and Shokaku on the cover

Guess who is missing in blu-ray? See the similarity

Damn, those background characters were shrunk...

They actually fixed the very bizarre proportions. If you consider the distance and perspective in the original cut, even samidare is like 1-2 head taller than Fubuki, which is completely whacky. Likewise, Asashio was beyond petite.

Still, the absense of Samidare looks like yet anoter "whoops, I forgot the toggle on the layer" accident...

And all those people thinking that the fans hated the series.
We can say that Kancolle should have gotten higher figures, but 20k for a game adaptation is nothing to be scoffed at.
