Dragonaut is your answer! I remember watching every week just to see how the plot sinks lower and lower.

If you are a guy, it will be a smooth and comfortable ride all the way because you will be treated to specially magnified breasts.

Back in the days, Code Geass was this. For the more recent ones, get Guilty Crown for some guilty pleasure. Most people I know ranted about this every week despite never missing it. It's that good.

Then there's Infinite Stratos which many watched just for the sake of Char (or any girl of your choice).

But if you insist, watch Hen-Zemi and Azazel-san (not as much bad as "strange").

Watch Musashi Gundoh : it's a epic fail anime that makes you laugh.
Second Guilty Crown, Dragonaut and Black Rock Shooter.
There's also any 4kids dub that makes you laugh.

I echo School days, it probably is the epitome of what you want.

Another that comes to mind is Final Fantasy Unlimited. It's so turgidly bad, it got cancelled after one series despite the fact that it was meant to run for two.

For an obscure choice, go for Vampire Wars. It's so bad you'll probably spend more time facepalming rather than actually watching it.

I'm going to throw [C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control out there as my favorite recent example of this. Also the Munto TV series, where extra special mention goes to a tertiary characters almost 10 minute soliloquy on how he wants to marry some little girl.

Both the Final Fantasy Unlimited and the Xenosaga anime deserve to be listed in this thread. However I wouldn't call them so bad that they are just good. They're just bad.

You can also watch the original Yu-Gi-Oh! anime (especially the filler episodes) and the rest of the series ^_^.

Seconding Macross 7. The anime is generally bad, really bad for the mid 90s standards, but still... Basara is one of the coolest guys in the anime universe. His "ways" to face the enemies are as much ridiculous as they are epic.
