Haven't been keeping track of discussion in this thread much, but I haven't seen summary of Vol21 yet. Chinese translations have started/continued, so I'll do them 1 chapter at a time (and the translations are still not finished yet). This first chapter is pretty long, to me at least is 90% 'meh'. What's here isn't even half of the details.

So, continuing on from end of Vol20, Irokane are aliens. Kinji reached that same conclusion as well, along the lines of 'meh you're just a alien, I don't have to respect you like you're a deity or something'. They're called Irokane because when they were discovered Japan haven't discovered iron yet, Irokane is basically supernatural metal. Shirayuki's clan normally foster out men in their clan and only keep the women because women are better in sealing off Scarlet Irokane. Tooyama men however are an exception and allowed into clan territory, because HSS even 1000 years ago was favoured by Scarlet Irokane.

Back in 3rd Century AD Shirayuki's clan head once took over Japan using Irokane, and after she died the clan decided they're better off sealing away Irokane. Having said that they're bad at their job not perfect and occasionally their experiments get loose or someone steals fragments.

Kinji diagnosed Scarlet Goddess as psychopathic and a thrill seeker. He decided the best way for SG to stop is to address the root of the problem. At first Shirayuki decided there's no hope left, she tried to seal SG away to get Aria back but her spells is returning a 'Aria not found' response. Shirayuki then tried to kill SG, and we now found her sword is actually made of 'anti-Irokane'. Wielder of her sword traditionally has the role of killing the SG-possessed. Of course, nobody outside of Kinji is allowed to kick ass, and Shirayuki flops as she couldn't attack, fearing Kinji will hate her forever and SG managed to break Shirayuki's spell easily and turn the sword to rust.

Kinji raised more flags saying he's the only one allowed to have misfortune, so Shirayuki can forget about taking some as she wallows in despair thinking she has to be the one to kill Aria. All Shirayuki has to focus on is making him fortunate again (basically a flag saying 'marry me')

Kinji decided the way to end this, and proving Aria is still inside despite possession, was to make SG fall for him For all of SG's bluster it's just tsun-ing to the max *facepalm* Ironically for a 'goddess of love and war' she's weak to this. The fight scene here is impressive if we discount how this reads like more DBZ. Kinji has to make every one of his step a Sakura move in order to move under the pressure. Kinji teased his way to victory, saying it's good that SG is angry at him, nearly all relationships start badly. And Kinji's father passed down advice from back when he was alive - HSS's fatal weakness is women trying to kill them, so the best defence for that is to love the women trying to do so and make them no longer wanting to kill him.

More seriously, SG's too used to possessing others to fight for her and she's not experienced enough in a head on fight. Kinji reached SG, deep kissed her, and half way through Aria came back and was also doing the kissing. After that Aria punched Kinji in the face because tsun

Cave collapsed after the fight, and Tamamo had to rescue them from being crushed. It turns out Aria managed to break possession by possessing SG right back when SG was distracted, something that according to Tamamo and Shirayuki to be impossible. SG got summoned by Aria afterwards, and they made a deal. Distance doesn't affect Irokane powering someone else, so for exchange of giving Aria the power of Scarlet Irokane in its entirety Aria is to send SG's 'UFO' back into space.

Long story short, the various Irokane that fell to Earth did so by accident. SG went wild and the other Irokanes tried to stop her when they figured they can't defy gravity and go back into space, however the hell that makes sense when we've seen Irokane being OP. SG wants to go back to travelling space because her mother is there, the Gold Irokane. Gold Irokane is the one responsible for Pyramids and Petra's power.

As a safety measure Kinji and Shirayuki will design measures to curb Aria if she ever goes berserk, utilizing measures such as Anti-Irokane and whatever else they have. Chapter ends when Aria says they need to call NASA

Kinji decided he need to catch up on study material otherwise even if he catches up on attendance he might fail the exam. In the study room he found Moe and the Yakuza girl from that arc (way too many not directly relevant characters by this point in HnA, I can't be bothered remembering them all). Moe got one of Kinji's arm in a vice grip and between her chest, and Yakuza girl got Kinji's other arm. Kinji has no idea why Yakuza girl wants to force him into HSS, she knows he has that.

SG's main body got sent out the airlock of the space shuttle, and the Gold Irokane took her away. Rest of that chapter involves unimportant stuff like more shiptease with Aria/Kinji and SG asking Kinji to never forget her and Kinji replying it's hard to forget someone that tried to kill him, eg in Hong Kong.
